Fresh/Soph State Update:
Yesterday at the Naperville Central Sectional, two bulldogs punched their tickets to the IWCOA freshman/sophomore state tournament in Springfield next weekend!
Congratulations to Joey Calvillo (3rd- 113 lbs) and Cash Monroe (4th- 157 lbs)!
Illinois Basketball Fact: If you were to meet Batavia's Boys' Basketball Coach Jim Nazos, you would meet a very humble person. Very quietly near the end of the season Jim earned his 400th career varsity victory. We congratulate Coach Nazos on reaching such a great accomplishment.
Great season on the mat for the bulldogs 🤼
Thank you to this special group of seniors for taking this team to great heights and setting a new standard.
Up from here 🚀
We would like to invite all of the Batavia community to join us in welcoming STATE CHAMP Kai Enos and his teammates home from Champaign! The Batavia police and fire depts. will lead the bus to the Batavia High School Main Street parking lot at 1:00 PM. Show out and support!
Batavia High School Wrestling is in the midst of the most successful run in program history.
With Kai Enos earning All-State honors, Batavia has now had an All-State wrestler eight consecutive years — an incredible standard of excellence. This stretch also includes the first State Champion in school history.
In Illinois, earning All-State recognition is one of the toughest accomplishments in high school wrestling. For a public school to sustain this level of success year after year is truly remarkable.
Congratulations to the coaches, families, and especially the athletes for building something special. 🤼♂️
We are deeply saddened by the news of the tragic and sudden passing of former Bulldog, Luke Reimer. Luke was an outstanding player and competitor, and an even more outstanding young man. Please keep the Reimer and Mich family in your thoughts and prayers. - Batavia Lacrosse
Positioning is the foundation.
If your positioning sucks, your technique will fail.
You can hit bad shots when you’re young and get away with it. As competition improves, that disappears. If you shoot without your hips in, it might work now. It won’t work long term.
Same on bottom. Knowing a stand-up or sit-out means nothing if you can’t keep your weight back, seal off, or control wrists. You might get to your feet, but you’ll get mat-returned 95% of the time.
Positioning makes technique work.
Without it, you’re just guessing.
