@CoastSnapChch is growing! We are very pleased to announce the launch of our newest site #CoastSnapShagRock which is located in Sumner, right by (you guessed it) Rapanui-Shag Rock. We know, we know... As if you needed another excuse to wander down the Coastal Pathway πΈπβοΈ

We have some wet weather and high tides heading our way this week. Make the most of the calm before the storm and get out, stretch the legs, and take a photo from one of our CoastSnap photo points before the rain hits.

Worried about buying a house in the future? Views on what our coastlines should look like in 50 years? Or views on how we could make coastal adaptation sustainable for future generations?
Have your say on the Council's Coastal Adaptation Framework: https://t.co/BHpCZDXl6N
#CoastSnap can help us to see the effects that coastal hazards have on our shorelines. Do you know what the main three coastal hazards in Εtautahi Christchurch are?

Happy Nature Photography Day π±πΈ
Next time you are down at the pier trying to get that elusive picture of the gulls, stop by the CoastSnap photo points and take a snap of the beach - because, (and here's your daily dose of cheese) every day should be Nature Photography Day!
This video shows some of the contributions we have received from the community at our #coastsnapbrightonnth site over the span of a few weeks. As always, thank you to all our #coastsnap contributors and keep up the good work!
#CoastSnap can help us to understand how our coastlines respond to long-term changes as well storms such as the one we experienced a few days ago. Here you can see the shoreline before, during and after the storm as it recovers. #coastsnapbrightonnth#coastsnapbrightonsth
The DIY feature on the #CoastSnap app lets you set up your own station, like the Australia example below. If you frequently visit an area, you can take an image from the same place every time and submit them to your own DIY station - and then we can track shoreline changes there!
Where did Long Reef Beach go? Impressive before/after changes from this weekends storm recorded by one of our #CoastSnap contributors using the new DIY feature on the CoastSnap App #CitizenScience#erosion@UNSWEngineering
We stopped by the photo points this morning to give them a wee spruce up and take a snap ahead of the stormy weather predicted to roll in this weekend (2nd pic). Caught the edge of this beach art done by a talented local down at New Brighton - what a great cause.
This compilation of images taken by the community shows our #CoastSnapBrightonSth site over the span of a few weeks. As always, thank you to all our #CoastSnap contributors so far, make sure you keep submitting images whenever you're at one of our locations!
Here are our first results using the #CoastSnap shoreline tracking technology at our #CoastSnapBrightonNth site. This shows two shorelines under 'normal' conditions and one during a north-easterly storm on 10 April 2021. Interesting to see how far the shoreline can move!
Thank you to all our contributors so far! Here is a compilation video of the #CoastSnapBrightonNth site over the past few weeks. We have also started to track shoreline changes which we will be sharing here shortly.
