El mercado de cartas Pokémon tokenizadas volvió a levantar la mano. En mayo de 2026, los marketplaces onchain ligados a Pokémon TCG alcanzaron cerca de 7.4 millones de dólares en ingresos semanales, con Courtyard, Collector Crypt y Phygitals como principales jugadores. (Info via @Dune)
La lógica es simple: una carta física se guarda en custodia, se autentica y se representa como token. Quien compra el token no sólo compra una imagen digital, sino un derecho asociado a un objeto real que puede comerciarse en mercados cripto y, según la plataforma, redimirse físicamente. Courtyard, por ejemplo, trabaja con cartas graduadas y almacenadas en bóveda, con opción de redención mundial.
El momento ayuda. Pokémon cumple 30 años en 2026 y The Pokémon Company confirmó lanzamientos especiales globales para celebrar tres décadas del TCG. Todavía hay detalles abiertos sobre los sets conmemorativos, pero el ruido cultural ya está acelerandose.
Lo relevante no es que Pokémon descubra Web3. Es al revés: Web3 está en búsqueda de objetos culturales que ya tengan comunidad, escasez, mercado secundario y memoria emocional. Las cartas Pokémon no necesitaban blockchain para otorgarles valor. Ya cargaban valor por historia, por deseo y por pasión de coleccionistas.
La tokenización sólo cambia la velocidad del juego. Reduce fricción, abre liquidez global y facilita comprar o vender sin mover/tocar/manipular la carta física. Pero también puede convertir el coleccionismo en puro arbitraje. La infancia se guarda en una bóveda; el precio se mueve en pantalla.
Ese es el punto incómodo...cuando la nostalgia se vuelve líquida, también se vuelve especulativa.

El principal organismo supervisor de la red eléctrica en Estados Unidos, Canadá y parte de México lanzó una inusual alerta por los riesgos que representan los centros de datos para el suministro energético. La agencia NERC advirtió que las instalaciones dedicadas a inteligencia artificial generan cambios extremos y constantes en el consumo eléctrico, con saltos repentinos entre una demanda muy alta y muy baja de energía. Según el organismo, estas fluctuaciones pueden desestabilizar las redes eléctricas y, en casos extremos, provocar apagones.
