12 years of BJP have turned the country such that humanity is not a consideration before political agendas. It is no longer limited to BJP, the rot has spread. The accusations about you don't really matter. If you'd broken your fast at Jantar Mantar with some girl who was attacked, etc - they'd have said you're doing it for TRP.

Sadly, we are now a low trust society and until we can create new social standards of behaviour, we must live with the consequences of what we allowed to manifest. It is unbelievable that when faced with great evil, our opposition still remains diivided and cannot bridge differences to save the country.

The youngsters are showing the way with their focus on goals, and behaviour demonstrating grace and humor rather than hatred. We could all learn.

Maybe we all need some introspection and satyagraha for what we are becoming and if we want to operate from paranoia and hate.

Police, CRPF, and RAF personnel deployed around the Jantar Mantar protests have been asked to remove their name tags.

This is not a small thing. Removing a name tag is illegal. It exists for one reason — so that a police officer can be identified. If an officer engages in unlawful brutality and nobody can identify him, no action can ever be taken against him. Anonymity enables police excesses.

The Supreme Court settled this long ago. In D.K. Basu v. State of West Bengal, the Court directed that police personnel must wear accurate, visible and clear identification and name tags with their designations. Concealing them is a violation of a binding direction of the Supreme Court.

So we have set up a website to report it.

If you see a police officer, CRPF or RAF personnel without a name tag:
1. Take their picture
2. Upload it on the website
3. Every single one will be sent to the Delhi Police Commissioner and the DG CRPF, with a demand for an explanation

The law applies to everyone. It applies to the police too. Modi-Shah cannot be allowed to run the police as their personal mafia.

But instead of relying primarily on police, authorities may use hired groups to provoke violence at and around Jantar Mantar and nearby protest sites by posing as protesters, potentially triggering clashes, stampedes, or other incidents. Such events could then be used to justify a large-scale security response and arrests.

At the same time, the government is publicly projecting negotiations with protesters while simultaneously preparing measures to end the movement, including increasing security deployment, enforcement of legal restrictions, and efforts to isolate the protest.

An organized online campaign is also attempting to shift attention away from the protest’s demands by promoting divisive narratives, targeting protest leaders, and discouraging student participation through fear of legal and career consequences.

Overall strategy is to weaken the movement, avoid addressing demands including Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, and ultimately justify a crackdown by portraying the protests as having turned violent.”

We hope that the @DelhiPolice takes immediate note, increase security, and ensure no fringe elements create chaos. Any misadventure will be disastrous.
