In 2021, the number of applications to Brown’s master of public health program was double that of the year prior, increasing from under 440 applications to nearly 950. The largest spike was among Black applicants, with an increase of almost 200%. https://t.co/3cvS3pc3NN
One way to move the needle toward reducing health disparities? Grow the number of Black and Brown students in public health programs. Our thanks to @CapitalBNews for the profile of @BrownUniversity Health Equity Scholar Shaunessey Burks!🙌🏾 https://t.co/5BKUt35eBZ

Last weekend, the Health Equity Scholars retreat, held at the Canonicus Camp & Conference Center, gave students a chance to get to know one another, and what it means to be innovative, inclusive, and responsible public health leaders. #BrownHES☀️
These 4 Years has been nothing but good learning lessons . I can’t be more grateful for being able to attend and experience ☺️. I proud of the women become and realize down at the reservation could do so much . I’m glad to say , Im graduating from Alcorn State University .
I dreamt of this!!! Thank you God! I finally got into my dream Medical school!!! OMG out of all my acceptances. I kept asking God for this one school. I guess we are moving to California! Best news I have gotten in years Bro! I don’t know what to do???
Grad school really warps your sense of priorities. I'm now questioning "do I really need that cancer biopsy NOW?" after being told it's not an excused absense from class... a class on teaching empathy and compassion in clinical work.
