@jackymutpioa@vexstappen@thebatbun In quali especially where there is close competition, they unleash everything. They did that yesterday. Monaco is just not their track.
@vexstappen@thebatbun In Monaco you don't hear battery charging, battery deployment, and super clipping. Short straights that don't drain the battery and many corners that charge the battery. Once we are out of here, Merc will shine again. That is their strength.
Jos Verstappen on Monaco Qualifying: "This is how Formula 1 should be! Not going slower through corners and all that nonsense, but just full throttle."

@MwineNgabo@F1GuyDan Merc is definitely the favorites but this is very different from 2014-2020. That period they had a big headstart in building the hybrid engine. This time teams will catch up. I think by the second half of the season Max will be fighting the Mercs for wins. Though the gap is big.
@MwineNgabo@F1GuyDan Seems you don't know what you are talking about. Teams don't just "shed weight" as they please. There is a minimum weight for the cars and in 2026 I think its 768kg. Merc are said to be under that limit so they have to add ballast. Redbull is overweight. Lap time to be found.
@SapereIgnatius@F1 Kimi's car was eating the kerbs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Max was kind of avoiding them and easing on throttle watching his onboard.
@MartinRom7216@MenInBlackNZ@formularacers_ Yeah it is but again, anything can happen. The Ferraris can make a jump to the lead by turn 1. Kimi has had several bad starts this season. Ignorance with pride.
@MartinRom7216@MenInBlackNZ@formularacers_ As much as pole has the highest affinity to win, it is not always a slam dunk. A lot can happen and strategy can also win it. He could be confidently leading then someone goes to the wall and misses a free pit. Undercut can also put a close p2 to the lead. Stop the ignorance.
@MartinRom7216@MenInBlackNZ@formularacers_ We mean everyone who has watched this season. Do you want me to remind you of those moments?
As a Max fan, my second choice is Kimi. I am glad everything he is achieving and I am rooting for his title. At that age, he will achieve a lot in F1. No hate here. Don't get twisted.
@MartinRom7216@MenInBlackNZ@formularacers_ We have seen him fight with Russell. A lot of mistakes under pressure: lockups, cutting chicanes. This is Monaco. Not an engine dependent track. So no disappearing. Being harassed when the track is narrow and walls, not ideal. Max is great at harassing. He needs a Max bad start.
