Suspects detained after Saturday night brawl on Riverfront Park dock
Fight began between several white people and one Black man, apparently over dock space reserved for riverboat.
Several people were taken into custody Saturday night after a fight on the dock at Montgomery’s Riverfront Park.
A video of the incident, which appeared to be racially divided, was shared Sunday on social media.
Montgomery police said they responded to a disturbance at the 200 block of Coosa Street at 7 p.m. According to MPD, a large group of people were fighting. Several were detained, MPD said.
The fight was captured on video by onlookers. It’s been reported that the fight began because a pontoon boat was blocking dock space needed to park a riverboat. That area is the regular spot reserved for the Harriott II Riverboat.
On Sunday, MPD said there were four active warrants issued from the fight, with a possibility of more after review of additional videos.
"Last night, the Montgomery Police Department acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job," Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed said Sunday in a release on social media. "Warrants have been signed and justice will be served."

Fast fashion retailer SHEIN facing allegations of criminal activity in RICO suit
A lawsuit was filed Tuesday against Shein, alleging the fast fashion retailer runs an elaborate operation that seeks out and steals the intellectual property of designers, big and small, while also utilizing a "confusing" corporate structure that allows the company to circumvent allegations of theft with minimal legal consequence.
Independent designers Krista Perry, Larissa Martinez, and Jay Baron accuse Shein of "produc[ing], distribut[ing], and selling exact copies of their creative works,” claiming its actions are “part and parcel of Shein’s ‘design’ process and organizational DNA,” according to The Fashion Law.
The suit claims Shein utilizes a "secretive algorithm" that is meant to identify growing fashion trends and purposely produces a small amount of an allegedly stolen item in the event of an infringement allegation. If the company is accused of stealing a design, Shein is able to quickly resolve the matter.
"When Shein copies a small or independent designer, the most likely outcome (without brand protection specialists and specialized software on the lookout) is that the infringement will go unnoticed," the complaint reads. If demand for the item remains high, Shein will allegedly produce more, as long as the threat of infringement doesn't exist.

Black man riding home from church with white grandmother cuffed during traffic stop
WAUWATOSA, Wis. —
When a Wauwatosa police officer told dispatchers he had just been flagged down about a possible robbery being committed, the officer did not describe the suspect over his police radio, however, the officer later told the driver of the vehicle he stopped that the person committing the robbery was reportedly black, dashboard camera video shows.
This is now a Federal case against #Wauwatosa Police officers. Jurors have been hearing the case all day in this civil rights trial.
Man arrested by police claims the officers made an unreasonable stop because they had no proof a crime was being committed in the vehicle. Defense argues a witness told an officer he saw two black men committing an armed robbery in a vehicle with white women and the officer
needed to investigate. Then 18 year old Akil Carter was detained for about 6 minutes then let go once officers realized the misunderstanding and grandma explained that was her grandson. Carter says he suffered emotional trauma.
