Every marginalized community experiences tropes in representation. For disability, this is largely because the disabled community doesn’t often get to create their own films.
Regardless of the trope, disabled tropes cause harm. Disabled tropes prevent disabled people from being treated like human beings. It’s time for a new message about disability in film.
