@americanmcgee@freelives YES!!! Haha, you must have known 15th of April is my birthday. We're definitely keen to join and to help.
I suspect Landfall could be keen to send a crew as well (as they missed the last Pirate Jam when Covid hit).
2/2 And we've done extensive tutorialization for our stick-figure-brawler on how to unzip files, turn off antivirus and tell the difference between a phone and a computer, where this was entirely unecessary for our card game.
My free card game on https://t.co/hOKEEsqj9Z has been receiving donations at 7 times the rate of my free stick-figure-brawler... So that means that indie developers are 7 times more wealthy than children?
1/2 For anyone confused... The audience for card games is indie developers, whereas the audience for stick-figure-brawlers is children... I know this because children don't know how to unzip files and use Bing.
@AdoneKitching @Free_Lives This looks like the perfect Venn diagram of things I want to play! Southern Reach, incremental games. And the visuals remind me a bit of "In Other Waters" which is another thing I love.
@dragglesden@reallyjoel@devolverdigital @Free_Lives We made a dumb little game for Ludum Dare a while back where your whole supply chain was fueled by garbage piles https://t.co/s0expm7ZwA
@dragglesden@reallyjoel@devolverdigital @Free_Lives Haha. Yeah, I guess that feels like a poetic reversal to me. After all the Factorios and Civilizations where your cities suck up the earths resources like cancer, commodifying human meat feels like a logical next step.
@reallyjoel@devolverdigital @Free_Lives Does that game exist?
I mean, almost all building games entail the growth and spread of humans where nature is just a commodity to be exploited or dominated.
And I think we're past the point where "more humans but in harmony this time" is a solid idea.
@The_MrX_@hi_rohun@AlanZucconi @DriftPrism @thejuntgames Gosh. I started in 2009 with trying to make games similar to Ragdoll Masters. I'd suggest first trying to rig a ragdoll, and then pulling it around with forces to make it do something fun. Working with physics is closer to an artform than programming. So you've got to practice.
@AlanZucconi@hi_rohun @DriftPrism @thejuntgames Part of the goal of the project was to see if this was possible... to make physically-driven animations look (mostly) like a traditional brawler... I think we came close. The implementation is like "Pupper Master", but more reliant on framedata variables (like a brawler).
@moreelen The incredible enthusiasm for fighting for the opportunities of the male video game developer (who make up more than 80% of the industry) is baffling.
If they spent that energy fighting for diversity we'd have a very different industry :/
New turret WIP, for our base building prototype. It kills in a line so requires particular enemy arrangements for efficiency.
Definitely going to look more awesome/thunderous once @elyaradine works over it.
New build of Base Building / Tower Defense game:
YOU CAN NOW TERRAFORM BITS OF THIS DUSTY ALIEN PLANET AND MAKE IT NICE.

@f4milyFriendly May I suggest not opening Twitter tomorrow.. I'm planning another tweet... Though if you're thinking of unfollowing I can promise that I'll eventually post something in good taste again.
