Very nice week for me on the @Topstep funded. Going on 3+ months now executing my very systematic scalping strategy, and it's nice to see it's still holding up in these changing market conditions the past couple weeks.
Day by day analysis here π§΅π
It's so weird how different folks can have wildly different experiences with these models. I continue to very heavily use Opus for just about everything. Planning and execution on some very large apps that I'm building, some web apps for clients, some trading tools and strategies, etc.
I'm most definitely not a Claude shill, I just haven't had any issues at all, and continue to be very pleased with the results. π€·ββοΈ
My own personal success in trading ramped up big time once I completely threw out all of the "conventional" trading advice that you hear everywhere:
π« Buy low, sell high
π« Make sure you're winners are bigger than your losers
π« Target at least a 1:2 RR or higher
π« Scalping is not profitable
π« You don't need a high win rate
π« You should only take 1-2 trades per day
π« You must use a fixed daily loss limit
Instead, my profitable trading for the past 3 months:
β Buy high, sell higher (or sell low, buy lower)
β My losers are almost *always* bigger than my winners
β Negative/Inverted RR, sometimes even 3-4:1 RR
β Scalping 4-15 points on MNQ at a time
β My win rate over 3 months and 1000's of trades is between 80-90%
β I typically take 10-30 trades per day
β I never have a fixed daily loss limit
This has resulted in the most payouts and success in trading that I've ever had in my 3 years of trading.
95%+ of traders fail following the conventional trading wisdom out there. So I decided to pull a George Costanza and just do the opposite! π
You can't control how much you make, but you CAN control how much you lose. The market gives what it wants, but it can only take what YOU choose to let it take from you.
Are @Topstep payouts speeding up? For my previous 3 payouts, it took 2 days to get the "Risk Approved" checked off. This time, it got approved immediately. π€
They keep pushing this Rapid plan like itβs something noble, but there is nothing noble about giving traders EOD drawdown during the eval and then switching it to Intraday when funded. No thanks.
Some things in prop trading sound too good to be true.
Daily payouts. Pass in 2 trading days. Clear rules.
Instead of asking you to believe it, weβd rather let you try it. RAPID Plan $97 (normally $157)
Code RAPID97
Eligible for new AND existing traders for up to two uses.

The difference between a negative R:R/high win rate strategy vs. high R:R/low win rate strategy:
Negative R:R/High Win Rate:
- You go into every trade expecting it to win
- You have the confidence to dig yourself out of any DD through one small winner at a time through disciplined execution
- Streaks of 9-10 winners in a row are very frequent
High R:R/Low Win Rate:
- You expect every trade to lose
- "Dang, 8th loss in a row, does this strategy actually work?"
- "Maybe this one will be my 1:10 R:R golden ticket..."
Since switching to a Negative R:R/High Win Rate strategy, my payouts have increased both in frequency and in their amount.
@Topstep Starting my 6th week on this XFA, and I'm very happy with the results.
- About 330 trades
- 84% win rate
- Almost 10K in profits
The negative R:R might look ugly to some, but it pays the bills!
Agreed, I remember Boris (creator of Claude Code) saying something similar. People think that using cheaper models are cheaper until they realize itβs taking many times longer and more token usage than a more advanced model that can often get you 95% of the way there with one shot.
