Texas Tech University is in strong support of the House Settlement, and want rules to be established by the College Sports Commission that will bring some measure of order to the current chaotic situation in college sports. However, these rules must comply with State Law and University bylaws, must be practical, reasonable, and must account for the input of member institutions. We will not sign the current form of the agreement, as indicated in the advisory letter from our General Counsel, below. Several other P4 universities share the same opinion, although most have been less outspoken.

However, we invite and encourage a constructive conversation around a revised set of rules and regulations. We will eagerly and fully engage in conversation aimed at finding a legal and workable solution, and I will personally commit to facilitating such discussions. I appreciate the commerciality, flexibility, and understanding of @brettyormark and the other P4 commissioners, and look forward to finding a working solution in coming days and weeks. @Big12Conference
