Shoutout to @RegalMovies for using dark patterns on their app to make it difficult to shut down your recurring payments after their summer discount program, and continuing to charge payment methods I've used their app to remove from their system.

@Cedrik1699 Playing through it very casually passing the controller back and forth. The combat is so smooth that I can stream it to the living room from upstairs, and the latency isn't enough to ruin the momentum or weight. Very well executed game.

@nocontextmemes The spear (invented 500,000+ thousand years ago) is so effective as a weapon of war that now (2025) we still issue rifles (which can launch a projectile 600 yards, 30 times in 6 seconds) with bayonet clips, in case they need to be turned into spears.

@RegalMovies Violates FTC guidelines, btw. To make it intentionally difficult to cancel a subscription. My problem was like $75 but now I'm excited to see what they think.

Update. Despite using their portal to remove my credit card information from my account, @RegalMovies is still continuing to process recurring payments on that card. I've charged back the last two already and they still have initiated a new charge for this month. Insanity.

@RegalMovies I have already been informed by your company that even though I removed the credit card before the transaction took place, you were aware of the removal and still chose to process the transaction, and would not reverse this decision. I don't want assistance I want my money.

@CloudlessStudio You used to have a screwdriver and a hammer. Now you have a whole toolbox. You're gonna have to learn to forgive yourself for not always having the screwdriver on top of the bag. Rummaging around a little doesn't mean you're unprepared.

Not at all! A lot of folks struggle with this very thing, and figuring out what a good cost/reward system is usually requires some level of professional help. Find someone who does that kind of outreach as their job.

Anyone with good information on how to get started as a Game Developer freelancing over on @fiverr ? Or perhaps a better software dev site? I'm definitely struggling to find a freelance site that respects the complexity of negotiating a Software contract.

@QuodSoler It's true, but everything is relative. Not having a great programmer around means you're limited to what the hardware of the time can handle with brute force math. Having a good programmer means you CAN make better games, not that you WILL make better games.

The @Upwork chatbot has me in this really cool loop where after a few AI messages it says "sorry I couldn't help, click here to contact support" and the button redirects me to the page where my only options are to check out forums, or talk to the bot.

Clearly not the only one with this issue. Every one of their X postings are just cluttered with comments from people trying to find a reliable support channel. I'd think it were funny if I weren't, ya know, having a serious issue that affects my income.

Really frustrating that @Upwork rips 10% of my earnings, and makes me pay to try and connect with clients, but doesn't even provide me with the ability to speak with a real human when issues arise with a client. Just a chatbot that obfuscates the process of submitting a ticket.
