Scoop confirmed — Trump admin moving to buy up some privately run ICE facilities from GEO Group/CoreCivic
Tom Homan on Fox last night confirmed what senior administration officials have told me since March: ICE is looking to buy up privately owned immigrant detention sites in order to get around having to comply with local/state regulations and have control over the property amid protests/riots.
“We need to own more of these facilities when we operate them on federal land, and then that way we're not dealing with all this crap from the local politicians in the state and the governors, because this is a federal site on federal land, that's that's the direction we need to go to, and that's the direction we're heading in.”

Sources tell me that ICE is looking to buy up roughly 30 existing privately run detention sites nationwide.
Doing so would give the federal government control over facilities that presently fall under state regulations.

1.6B in debt at 10%. The first 1.6B in sales are accretive to earnings. If they sell all the 25000 ICE contracted beds, that’s 5B. Their current market cap is 3B. If you don’t own any Geo stock, you should buy some now.

Funding odds reported to get them moving of course. Regardless, these delays are real and therefore make Geo group’s turn key facilities even more valuable.
$GEO That's just the cash from the sales. Then there's the rest of the biz. DHS had the DRI to get them to 92K beds. That plan failed miserably. The goal hasn't changed. The only way to get there is to buy existing facilities and expand those locations.
$geo to be clear, ICE and CBP funding is going to be done via reconciliation. The vote in the early morning yesterday was a "rule" vote. The rule gives the appropriations and DHS committees permission to markup the bill. Once completed, there will be a house floor vote. Then it goes back top the Senate. And, finally, it gets sent to Trump. Trump wants it done by June 1st. So, $geo investors, you will have 2 events in the next 31 days. Earnings, next Wednesday and ICE/CBP by June 1st. I would expect some facilities purchase contracts to be signed with Geo soon thereafter. Buy June or later calls.
$GEO I'm guessing the warehouse in Surprise AZ will never have any cells as there a chemical storage facility across the road. Wow. I guess when your trying to skim from each contract, it ends justify the means. The arrogance and stupidity of the Noem and Lowendowski DHS will not be missed. This makes Geo's existing facilities even more attractive.

$GEO More likely and better for shareholders is the acquisition of blue state facilities. It would serve GEO well to pay down their debt with the proceeds and focus on a management and IT company thru BI.
$GEO Don’t be shocked if GEO starts drawing serious government attention but talk of a full takeover or equity stake is still a stretch.
What does make sense:
• Federal facilities are aging and underfunded
• GEO offers ready-to-deploy infrastructure
• Policy shifts could drive increased reliance on private operators
A more realistic outcome would be:
• Larger federal contracts
• Higher occupancy across facilities
• Long-term agreements with steady cash flow
There’s a path to meaningful upside here but it likely comes through contracts, not ownership.
Patience is Key 🔑🤞
