I gave Codex 7 photos of me and asked it to control Blender to create a GTA V–style character.
One prompt burned through my entire Plus plan’s token allowance.

It sourced a base mesh, wrote modeling scripts, built clothing and hair, rigged the character, then repeatedly rendered and fixed clipping issues. It delivered an editable Blender project and a GLB file.

Total usage: 9.12 million tokens.
Of those, 8.76 million were cached input. Uncached input plus output totaled roughly 359,000 tokens. The headline number alone doesn’t tell you the cost.

An honest assessment: the model opens, is editable, and has a skeleton. But the facial likeness and hair still need considerable work. It’s a rough first version.

This experience left me with a question: once AI can operate creative software autonomously, how do we get it to reliably judge the quality of its own work?
