Brown’s fastball sat 92-94 for most of the start and touched 95 a few times but his curveball was definitely his best pitch and he threw it a lot more as the game went on. Seemed to tire out a bit in the 7th inning but overall a terrific showing for him.

Earlier today I saw @IndianaBase take on @RutgersBaseball in Piscataway. It was a thrilling game with the Hoosiers coming out on top 5-3 in 11 innings thanks in large part to a pinch-hit go ahead 2 run homer by Jordan Fucci.

Indiana starter and top draft prospect McCade Brown was brilliant on the mound, tossing 7 innings and striking out 11 while only allowing 1 hit and 1 ER. The video below was Brown’s 6th inning, where he struck out the side in order.

Quietly, Coach @rwoodardCLT has put his Niners in the hosting discussion. Another 4 games against a (the same) ranked team this weekend coming up. This team has staying power, if you ask me.

Both teams have potential to make noise in June. Charlotte seems to be deeper on the pitching staff. The Niners took 3 of 4 at their place, now the two teams will play 4 more in Norfolk starting Friday.

Friday I also saw a ranked matchup between @ODUBaseball and @CharlotteBSB (game 1 of DH) I was wowed by the amount pro-caliber talent on the field.

Old Dominion has some talented bats including toolsy middle infielder Carter Trice hitting .361 and 1B/OF Andy Garriola, who is a big power threat.

With this loaded slate of position players and Kevin Kopps anchoring the bullpen, the key will be how much pitching can they get around him? So far the answer has been barely enough to field a #1 squad. But they’re going to need more guys to step up and give them quality innings

My first ever in-person dose of SEC baseball at an SEC ballpark was incredible. Even without full capacity the atmosphere at Founders Park for @RazorbackBSB vs @GamecockBasebll was wild, and I can’t wait to go back soon

SS Jalen Battles is a great player, a playmaker in many different ways, and Brady Slavens has a ton of strength giving this team pop in the middle of the order. Not to mention possible first rd-er Christian Franklin, the uber-athletic OF who can really play + steady bat Goodheart
