BYU when not playing Texas Tech this year:
✅ 12-0
✅ 3-0 vs. ranked opponents
✅ 4-0 vs. teams with 9+ wins
✅ 6-0 vs. teams with 8+ wins (TCU could earn a ninth win)
They deserved a spot in the College Football Playoff 🤙🏼
BYU coach Kalani Sitake has begun to inform people that he intends to stay at the school, sources tell @PeteThamel.
Sitake and the Cougars are set to face Texas Tech in the Big 12 championship game on Saturday.
Sources: BYU coach Kalani Sitake has begun to inform people that he intends to stay at the school. BYU is in the process of putting together a lucrative contract to keep him. He's been one of main targets at Penn State, which he informed of his decision today.
If there’s even a hint that a coach might be looking at another job, many fanbases are ready to burn down their house and deny ever rooting for them. BYU is absolutely built different.
I arrived in Provo as a young man with @BNKonFOX not knowing what to expect. I was overwhelmed with all the love I received from Cougar Nation. From Cosmo to Kalani it was all love. From the ice cream to the dirty soda to the weird guy at the pizza shop it was all love. Coach Sitake danced his way into my heart. There is no place like Provo and Provo can’t exist without BYU football. And BYU football can’t exist without Kalani. And neither can #ProvoDave Stay Kalani Stay!
Listen to the cadence and increasing volume of the crowd as Bear Bachmeier gets closer and closer to the end zone. An electric sequence… and another reminder why an in stadium experience like this is unforgettable.
This morning with our burned down church still smoldering and four saints murdered, members of the Church of Jesus Christ raised $60k for...checks notes...the shooter's wife and children. Most donations are anonymous. Each Christian comment will make you cry more than the last.
After reading a few of the comments to my original post, i felt compelled to ask my Christian friends a few questions.
If, in this moment of grief, someone had said to me, as I mourn the loss of Charlie Kirk, “Yes, but everything he said was trash,” how do you think that would feel? Does that sound like the way we honor the charge to “mourn with those who mourn”?
I know very well how my faith is viewed in some quarters. I am not blind to the criticisms, nor do I expect everyone to share my beliefs. If you are not a hater but simply someone who disagrees with me on these issues, I want you to know I recognize your sincerity and that you, too, may believe you are doing right. But please — in this moment — I ask you to show me, and others who are hurting, the respect and love that Christians are commanded to extend to all.
There is a time for debate, and there is a time for silence. The time to belittle or question another’s faith is not while they are burying their dead. Doing so does not soften hearts; it hardens them. It does not heal; it deepens the wound. It does not invite reflection; it closes ears and eyes to any message you might hope to share.
I am not asking you to change your beliefs. I am not even asking you to stay silent forever. I am asking, humbly and respectfully, that you consider saving that fight for another day. We already agree on so much. The times are so dark. This is the third friend I have lost in two weeks. We are all hurting.
I love you. I respect your spiritual stance. I even applaud you for standing up for Christ in your way. But is it too much to ask, just for this moment, that you sit quietly with a friend and mourn while they mourn?
BYU Tight End Carsen Ryan addressed the media Monday:
☑️ What about this offense has brought out your strengths as a tight end?
☑️ How did you develop chemistry with Bear?
☑️ PFF has you highly graded tight end. Does that validate what you’ve done this season?
☑️ How is Aaron Roderick using you in the pass game?
☑️ The last couple of games have been slow starts. How do you handle that?
☑️ How does the tight end here compare to the programs you’ve been at
☑️ You learned about the Big 12 last year with Utah. How does it compare to your time in the Pac-12?
☑️ What do you remember about playing against Colorado?
