My first Hair Ice of this Winter seen today and prehaps the most stunning and biggest example I've ever seen
From Google ""Hair ice is a rare, hair-like ice formation that grows on rotting wood from broadleaf trees when the air is moist and the temperature is below freezing""
I think it is a Lapidary Snail (Helicigona lapicida)
From my "fag packet" research, records seem sparse for Gloucestershire west of the Severn and appears not to have been recorded at Symonds Yat Rock before
Does anybody know their land based snails...
A new one for me,
Seen at Symonds Yat Rock. Gloucestershire. UK Predominantly limestone habit and is about 20mm in diameter
