The 3 wise men from the East are set to head to Rome: Chimdiebube Onwubiko, Egejurum Onyedikachi, and Don Anele Munachimso.
Their assignment is simple: bring back the gold.
They will be competing with 154 other countries in Rome, Italy, this week.
Since Nigeria couldn’t qualify for the World Cup, this will be our World Cup.
Three Southeast students are on their way to Rome, Italy, to represent the region at the International STEM Olympiad Grand Finale, where participants from 153 countries will compete. The team qualified after winning the Southeast Mathematics Olympiad and hopes to bring home gold.
I just arrived Galway, Ireland 🇮🇪 attending the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) Conference, one of the world’s largest gatherings of media and communication scholars.
This year, I am presenting two papers that explore questions emerging at the intersection of my research at and practice on media innovation, and digital policy initiatives across Africa.
One of the things I value most about conferences like this is the opportunity to move between policy conversations, newsroom practice, and academic scholarship. Each brings a different perspective, but together they offer a richer understanding of how technology, media, and governance are reshaping our societies.
It is always a privilege to contribute to these global conversations while bringing insights and evidence from Africa into the room.
In Ghana, any child who qualifies to represent the country in the International Maths Olympiad gets an automatic scholarship to MIT.
Interestingly, the head of their local Olympiad unit is a Nigerian. He left Nigeria the moment the Nigerian government stopped sponsoring our students for the program.
MIT students regularly travel to Ghana to prepare their students for the Olympiad.
It is also a huge talent pipeline for a company called Jane Street. They are the major sponsor for Ghana Maths Olympiad. Their starting salary is between $300k - $600k annually.
I got a call from JAMB this morning with the wonderful news that Okeke Chinedu Christian has been awarded the ₦5 million Star Prize by Rite Foods as the overall best candidate in the 2025 JAMB examination.
You remember how we fought for this young man. Today, victory is finally his.
Education is gradually getting the recognition and rewards it deserves.
This youngster, Don Anele Munachimso Marvelous, was the best Chemistry student in Nigeria in IGCSE. He won the ₦5 million star prize as the best in the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad. He also took first position in the country at the National Mathematics competition in Abuja.
He also won a $100k scholarship in Canada.
He will compete with students from 154 other countries in Rome, Italy, this Saturday.
He is a genius, and the world will know him.
This is Master Chisom Unachukwu. His students won first, second, and third positions at the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad.
He will be going to Rome today, all expenses paid by me, to watch his students challenge bright students from 154 other countries at the International STEM Olympiad.
There is hardly any competition he attends in the country where his students don’t win top 3 prizes. He has won every competition he attends in Nigeria.
He studied mathematics at UNILAG.
I’m rewarding his efforts and those of other teachers. The reward of teachers is here on earth too.
This is just the beginning, and the world will know him.

WE SHOULDN’T BE QUIET ABOUT THIS WE SHOULDN’T FORGET THE KIDS!
FREE OUR CHILDREN!
Despite how strong and rugged I was, I spent 42 days in captivity and nearly died. I saw déáth eyeball to eyeball. 💔
Today makes it 46 days since those children and teachers were abdûcted in Oyo State. Just imagining what they might be going through breaks my heart. 💔😭
46 days in the forest... little or no water, poor food, no shelter, no bathing, no brushing their teeth, sleeping in the cold and rain, exposed to mosquitoes, dangerous insects, and wild animals. Living every single day in fear and uncertainty, not knowing if help is coming.
Yet, there has been no breakthrough or reassuring update from the government. It's heartbreaking. 💔
No child or teacher deserves to endure this kind of suffering. 💔😭
If you still choose to defend a government that continues to fail its citizens while innocent lives remain in danger, it shall never be well with you and your household Amen. 🙏🏽😡
We have now raised N1m for him. Kindly donate what you can for him so he can do his kidney transplant.

For generations, farmers in Oyo State have fed their families and communities, relying on traditional farming knowledge and predictable weather. But the climate crisis has changed the rules, bringing uncertainty, crop failures, declining profits, and mounting debts.
This is the daily, lived reality of those at the frontline of Oyo’s agricultural processes. However, climate-smart solutions exist, yet many interventions cannot scale due to limited information, funding gaps, and unsustainability.
In this mini-documentary, commissioned by CJID, Dajie Odok (@dajieodok) of @RadioIITA highlights the crisis’s threat to regional food security and the local economy, and the urgent need for climate-resilient agricultural interventions and support systems for farmers.
