On this date in 1984, the Cold War action classic "Red Dawn" opened in theaters.

BITE-SIZED FACT | It became the first movie released with the newly created PG-13 rating.

This was one of those movies that made the '80s feel a little more intense than they probably needed to be...and one I still watch whenever I come across it on tv.

A look at the difference between my Patreon and my Substack.

One of the things I love to do on my Substack is move on some of the art supplies and books in my studio. I really can't take the time or energy to sell the books, and haven't any interest in doing so, especially since many were given to me for review purposes. I'd feel bad about that. It makes me happy to move them on to new readers.

Many of the art supplies were also given to me for testing and review purposes. I've given away over 300 swag packages so far.
