As we move (oh so) quickly from #NCAAGolf Regionals to Nationals, we'd like to showcase a few recent additions to the site, some of which bridge the two
Along with being able to see the SP/MP results each year, there's a Seed Analysis section for NCAA MP seeds AND Regional seeds
We said this weird trend might not mean anything, but for UCLA it means everything!
The Bruins are the first #5 Regional seed to make the #NCAAMGolf Finals & have already overcome the Top8οΈβ£ playoff curse, can they beat the Regional #1 seed win streak?

Weird Trends That Don't Mean Anything...Probably
Last year's #NCAAMGolf champion, Oklahoma St, missed MP the previous year, same as every champ since the 2018 Cowboys who were Quarterfinalists in 2017
Good for:
Vandy
UCLA
Arizona
UNC
Duke
LSU
San Diego
Stanford
We've reached the #NCAAMGolf final where it's #1 Regional seed @AuburnMGolf vs Regional #5 seed @uclamensgolf
Funny enough, in our proposed alternate bracket, these two teams would have met in the Quarterfinals

Something we can't stop thinking about:
How can the #NCAAGolf team match play be better π€
One thought - which we turned into a site tool - is to re-seed the MP bracket based FIRST on Regional seeding THEN by NCAA SP finish. Another thought: allow the SPπ₯ to choose their #8 opp
@Clippd_Marcus@AlabamaMGolf If they don't, there's a college golf museum located in the same state which would gladly take them!
They definitely belong framed and hung on the wall in the Crimson Reserve @jcwellbamagolf
@Clippd_Marcus@OSUCowboyGolf Never agree to the first competition Coach Bratton suggests...would not be surprised if there's some kind of ancient arm wrestling machine at Karsten left over from Coach Holder's days π
Did you have a milkshake drinking race for William Jennings's??
Although Luke Poulter lost 6&4 today, it MUST be pointed out the guy has played incredible MP golf
His bogey-free streak went from the 2025 QF (1up loss to Tommy Morrison) ***all the way thru 2025 SF (1up loss to Ben James) & to hole 13 today
32 straight MP holes w/o bogey π€―
Not only has the Williams/Pollo match been sneaky amazing, it's been sneaky historic!
This is the first time at La Costa that a #NCAAMGolf championship match has produced two eagles much less two from the same player π€―
Wells Williams (Vandy) vs Zach Pollo (Arizona) is a sneaky amazing matchup and may be the deciding match between two Regional #3 seeds who won their Regional
Caught this moment earlier from @Vol_Golf where one of their guys decided to walk in after the team lost out in the playoff. The whole team came down to meet him and support him. Awesome to see. I hope our foundation gets to work with these guys cuz this is what itβs all about.
Just to put a bow on this, here is the cutline data generated from the 2026 #NCAAMGolf championship
We can see that yet again it was not advantageous to be ON the top8 cutline going into that final round (now 1/5 at La Costa 2024-26) π€·πΌββοΈ

Today's #NCAAMGolf cut to Top8οΈβ£ for MP is especially interesting with a little context of how teams have done the last two years at La Costa, or even back to 2009
Check out our cutline tool which shows success rates based on # of strokes +/- top8 score

Things may get pretty wild for the 2025 champs (Ok St) to repeat:
First they must defeat the 2023 champs (Florida), where the odds suggest they would meet the 2024 champs (Auburn), and then finally they may face the 2022 champs (Texas) in the Finals π€―
