A HUGE campus doesn’t mean YOU will have a lot of friends & have a big social life or network of friends. We know the strongest alumni networks are at campuses with less than 10,000 students & have 4 years of residence life on campus. Living, dining, & socializing together works!

Visiting Campus? Have Lunch in a Dining Hall. Any students sitting alone? Faculty? Is there a free lunch for faculty dining with student program? Are tables busy or empty? The real sign of social life on campus is the life & interaction in dining halls👍🏼 @Muhlenberg College

Visiting Campus? Don’t forget to visit the Career Center. Ask about career services, internship stipends, companies recruiting your major and individual assistance for jobs & grad school. Are they welcoming & informative? If not, it will much worse once you are on campus.

As you make Campus visits don’t forget to explore without a guide. Are new buildings full of auditorium size rooms or seminar tables? Are there classrooms that hold more than 40 students? Are faculty offices visible and are faculty walking with undergrads? Study space on campus?

Parents - Torturing a student by visiting a highly selective campus where the average admitted student has 2+ years of Math or a Foreign language more & nationally recognized awards - won’t make them more likely to “try harder” or be admitted. It’s just torture😫

Juniors - Try to visit campuses over spring break. Even if it’s only to visit a few nearby colleges where you have the academic fit (with a friend or parent) to learn what you do & don’t want in a college👍🏼

#Juniors to begin building a #College List- Concentrate on campuses you know you are a strong candidate & safety schools for now - You can add your “Reach” schools later. The biggest mistake students make is applying to campuses they don’t❤️ or don’t “fit”
