We’re glad to support the CUNY College & Career Advising Fellows, a program from @CUNY and @NYCSchools that provides NYC public school students with advisers – recent CUNY grads – to help them navigate the college and career planning process: https://t.co/fk2eSaR9Zw
Many talented lower-income, first-gen students lack access to our nation’s best colleges. Our @CollegePoint initiative, in partnership w/ @MatriculateOrg, provides these students with free, virtual near-peer guidance to apply to & attend top universities: https://t.co/xxBRuCJAsP
In addition to filling out your college applications, you’ll need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form in order to qualify for financial aid at the schools you’re applying to. And PS: The FAFSA application is OPEN NOW!
50% of qualified, low-income students in the U.S. aren’t applying to college. Our virtual @CollegePoint advising program is working to improve that statistic. From building a college list to navigating financial aid, @Nick_A_Watson shares how this program is making an impact.
Our @CollegePoint program is doubling down on helping high-achieving, lower-income students access great colleges across the country. Program Lead @Nick_A_Watson shares why it's important to provide these students with free advising to help them apply to their dream schools:
🎉🙌 It’s important to celebrate regardless! Our virtual advisors are eager to assist you with navigating your financial aid packages, helping you look for scholarships, and weigh out your options. We also wanted an excuse to post Timothèe Chalamet 😉.
This is largely because many first-gen students don’t know about the resources available on campus. Although our virtual advisors can’t be there through your entire college career, we’re eager to equip you with the knowledge you’ll need to start your journey successfully! 🙌
When I stumbled across an email from CollegeBoard about both Collegepoint and UStrive, I immediately took the opportunity. Thank God that I did. Going to college is something that’s real for me now. It’s scary, but real!”
We’re thrilled for your success, Makayla! 🎉💙
“Being able to attend has changed my life, as I have the ability to be supported financially, and have a sense of stability in my life for one of the first times.”
Congratulations, Debra! We are SO happy for you! 🥳

Although supplemental essays can shock you, our virtual advisors are here to help. Not only can these essays further demonstrate your interest in a school, but they give you a great opportunity to express other parts of yourself you may not have covered in your main application.

“Having someone teach me how to apply and get into college opened up a lot of possibilities that I didn't realize I had. I'm so grateful to how receptive my advisors were, because they were always so kind and helpful in response to my concerns.”
