My Dad had a long connection, love & friendship with his beloved @CollingwoodFC Since his passing, I wanted to ensure his connection & love was continued, so dor 2024 I have sponsored Bobby Hill for 2024 in memory of my Dad. @SwoopLuke@PiesNation@CollFansCare
On this day in 1968, Black Olympic medalists Tommie Smith and John Carlos faced death threats and expulsion for protesting racial inequality. To overcome racial inequality, we must confront our history. https://t.co/GkdyfxATVx
1/ 🏆 AFL Grand Final 2023: Recalling the magic of 2010, it's prompted deep introspection. In my first deep dive since retirement, I consumed EVERYTHING leading up to the game. I was deeply immersed again. #AFLGrandFinal2023#Collingwood
The Collingwood Football Club is aware of multiple racist messages sent to Port Adelaide’s Willie Rioli on social media following tonight’s Round 19 game at the Adelaide Oval.
We stand against racism.
The #Hawthorn#AFL investigation into alleged #racism has been shut down with no findings and no justice for any party. It is another example of why the 'independent investigation' model favoured by #sports is not fit for purpose. Neither accusers nor accused trust such a system. However, the AFL has done its best to ensure it is exempted from any further action expected in court or the Human Rights Commission.
THIS is the action players *should* be empowered to take by global player unions.
Non-Black players need to act in solidarity with their Black teammates.
Otherwise, Football’s leaders will do nothing to protect Black footballers in their workplace and nothing will change.✊✊
Individual intent is irrelevant. The historical context of @CollingwoodFC fans booing a champion Indigenous @sydneyswans player at the MCG for no apparent reason simply cannot, and should not, be ignored. ✊👏
Collingwood Captain Darcy Moore, Senior Coach Craig McRae and CEO Craig Kelly wish to address the booing which took place at the MCG yesterday.
