Tips for Surg away rotations
-You'll figure out the general flow and expectations but if you can help transport patient back to PACU this allows the resident to go get orders in without having to wait around in the OR.
-Go back and help staff with room turnover

For M3's applying to orthopedic aways right now.
-In my class we had around 8 apply this cycle. I think everyone but one did 3 away rotations.
-Obviously there are a number of factors in choosing how many away rotations you are able to do.
-Most students I met did 3 or 4.

For 3 away rotations I personally applied on VSLO to 5 programs. Most institutions have differing deadlines so you can modify as you go.
