@RaphaelRau@tomsvfx Thats it really. I think time of day, temperature, etc have an influence. Probably the only realistic way would be billions of tiny snowflake particles.
@RaphaelRau@tomsvfx I worked last year on a TV spot which was a large snowy field. Managed to get the snow detailed enough but just didnt have the same fluffy look as real snow. Was good enough but wish there was something super realistic.
@RaphaelRau Maybe some kind of mini scene that involves a few different elements. Maybe some object floating on water, animated. So you have some dynamics, volumetrics, caustics, etc. Rubber duck in a bath or water buoy at sea.

Night scenes are tricky to paint. They are full of contrasts, and there are no fixed expectations of how they should look. That's why I love to take photos and I put them on a side just in case.
