@LouStagner I’m confused, why would the USGA allow a golfer to enter just a front 9 and back 9 total for handicapping purposes. This makes absolutely no sense. I’m from Ireland btw.@LouStagner
@gregallenRTE Divisions or Categories give the competition balance as the handicap ranges are playing against similar values.
There seems to be some thought about the size of the field and handicap spread in order to decide on 85%, 90% or even 100%.
Dropping to 85% is only a temporary “fix”
@gregallenRTE@GolfIreland_ Wow. The recommendation has now turned into a rule that I want to jettison 🤷♂️. I think we have a different view on the issue. Funny I would 100% agree with you that a mandate from Golf Ireland would have been much better. As with golf itself consistency is the key.

@gregallenRTE@GolfIreland_ What about visiting players Greg? When they go to a club and their playing handicap is significantly different to their home club just because a committee has made a decision on the allowance. Next year it will be 75%……..where does it stop?
@gregallenRTE@PatPmurphy@GolfIreland_ Who will perform this key role with iGolf? Seems we could have thousands of these nomadic golfers and as they are not a member of a club they can roam freely without fear of any real oversight. Clubs should instigate a special green fee rate for iGolf Players in their Open Comps.
@LouStagner Is the 69% for the PGA tour based on all players or just players that made the cut in those events. Would be interesting to see if there is a notable difference. @LouStagner
