Happy Canada day to all my Canadian followers and listeners out there. From my experience, Canadian people are seriously some of the coolest and nicest people on this entire planet. Extremely polite, reasonable people. I was in Canada a bunch this past year and I remember being a little bit faded off NyQuil Severe in Montreal while I was on a walk. For some reason, I stopped and took my airpods out and just stood there for like 5 minutes observing everyone. I realized how calm and peaceful everyone was. The demeanor was just different, in a positive way.
That's basically like every canadian person i know personally. They're all cool, carry themselves in a pleasant way. I wonder if it has something to do with the climate up there. How it's cold, and everyone pretty much realizes hey we gotta be on the same team and all get along with each other and make the best of it because it's about to be cold for 9 months again. Let's make this easier on ourselves and have positive attitudes. Let's curl up on the sofa by the fire with a warm blanket that was hand stitched by my grandma before she died on a Disney Cruise (food poisoning) and watch a documentary about somebody who was falsely accused of a murder and had their entire life ruined for no reason. Let's make cookies. We'll dim the lights inside but leave the blinds open so the moonlight shines through, snowflakes falling gently against the window. 4 minutes into the documentary lets maybe get naked because my parents aren't home for another 2 days (i'm 43 years old and this is not my house).
Maybe the entire world needs some bad weather. If the entire world got super cold and we all had to bundle up, we'd be too distracted to end up like people in Scottsdale Arizona where most people I encounter in public are self righteous superficial douchebags with zero substance to them. I dont know, I don't want to generalize an entire city, either. Scottsdale is also a nice place to live and Arizona is a great state. This is a positivity show.
Besides team USA beating a country that barely has running water in soccer, sometimes I feel like in the United states people are only universally cool is when something bad happens. 9/11, harambe being shot directly in the head, Hurricane Katrina, being pissed at asians when congress tricked us into thinking they started covid, etc. It's just madness sometimes.
Anyways, congrats to canada for having great people. Again this is is just my experience with canadian people.
Enjoy your weekend.
The reaction on this app to Skinner's contract is absolutely baffling to me.
Is he elite? Of course not.
Is he a legit NHL starter? No question.
The guy played his way to 2-straight Stanley Cup Finals, and just signed for less AAV than Kevin Lankinen. Slightly more than Joel Hofer, Alex Nedeljkovic, Charlie Lindgren, etc.
That's a fantastic contract for the Jets.
