@TheBuddyCSM What an awful turn of fate. Glad he's recovering. I think about surviving '86-'08 in 5th then 3rd Grp. All the stupid dangerous deployments, scratches and scrapes, nothing serious. Only to lose an arm to cancer in the comfort of rural VA. Life happens.

@cheeseheadexpat I'm a fan of most of his books, particularly like 'The Water is Wide'. Got to meet him at a southern writers conference in 2012 and he was a truly nice, humble southern boy. Lords is def another good one.
