I like to collect, but manufacturing scarcity to artificially drive engagement is a fool’s move. If something is popular it needs to have a common variable. X-Men #1 comes to mind. Great covers but not exactly rare. Then you have the Pressman variants of a few issues that are cool. Supply the demand, but then maybe throw in some rarities for collectors. Hype is high and sustained, and collectors are satisfied.

@ComicPerch It’s sad that the M one is the least shitty and makes the most sense. The power pack one might be okay if comics were still sold in gas stations and convenience stores since that’s where most grade schoolers would see it.
