Continued Education
It is a requirement for all of our management to continue to learn and develop. They are required to bring opportunities such as workshops, courses, and events to develop as a leader in the industry.
Of the nearly 40 locations we service, 12 of them came from an existing relationship with a client or an expansion of an account to additional locations.
If that doesn’t tell you relationships are everything in business I don’t know what does.
We recently did our strategic planning meeting for 2025. We’ve made these way too complicated in the past - this year we have dumbed down our planning and narrowed in on one singular focus for the year. Anything that deters me from focusing on that goal gets outsourced and delegated.
@eduschesne1 Just had something similar, two leaders on our team were let go and I didn’t have policies in place in our handbook around max pto hours and payout upon termination. So two years of vacation had to be paid out for both. Our handbook is now being rewritten 😂
@eduschesne1 Worst case they want to negotiate and we still get favorable terms billing on the first of the month as you do. But at least we’re starting with our ideal terms.
@eduschesne1 Yeah we try our best to invoice on the 15th for the upcoming month. We explain it the same way you mentioned basically. “We’re a growing small business, can’t be the bank quite yet” and outlining the expenses we have even before starting an account.
@stockmarketcody Yeah man this does suck, had a similar situation this week for a 6am commercial client. Stuff happens but my experience is your clients remember how you respond to these situations more than anything. If you have to, roll up your sleeves and do it yourself!
@janitorialguy That is definitely true at times. I had a mentor tell me that regardless of how many of those phone calls you get over time, you can’t cynical about the industry because that will definitely seep down to your team and create a toxic environment
