@HockeytownRD It's 4 1st equivalents for me which is the Hughes return. 1 roster player, 2 top prospects, and a 1st would be my expectation. 1st can be top 15 protected.
Utah:
Peterka
Igilnia or Desnoyers
Simashev
2027 1st (top 15 protect)
Detriot can offer Faulk or a B prospect in return.
@HockeySnobElite I had a similar trade on puckgm and guys went nuts and I even added in Faulk, Lombardi, wallinder with Larkin.
My proposal:
Larkin
Faulk (50% retained)
Wallinder
Lombardi
Utah:
Peterka
Igilnia
Simashev
2027 1st
Guys went nuts. Igilinia or Desnoyers could be the return.
@H3llzCorn3rs@HockeySnobElite@BradKrysko There are 5 players with 30 goals each of the last 5 seasons....McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Matthews, and.......LARKIN!! Consistent 30 goal scorer are rare and Larkin os one of them. Is he elite 100 pt scorer like these guys..no but dont write him off as 2C is either.
@HockeySnobElite After that Brady haul its Simashev, Peterka, and Igilnia or Desnoyers plus a 2nd is what the return it would need to be between Hughes and Brady. Larkin might get a Hughes return which would be a 2027 1st as well since he is signed longer and plays the premium position of all 3.
@H3llzCorn3rs@HockeySnobElite@BradKrysko Brady has similar point totals to Larkin...actually a little under but does not play a premium position and will need a contract in 2 seasons. Only advantage is he is 3 yrs younger. Larkin is going to get this plus more. Yzerman is shooting for NHL ready prospects though
@Jabs_13 Larkin is getting 4 firsts plus a 2nd equivalent if that is the return for Brady. Larkin has a 5 years, plays a premium position, and has equal or better production.
@RyanHanaWWP This is the 2nd carolina player to take a shot about leaving...is it starting to be come apparent that some players think Larkin asking for a trade is complete BS and do not want him on their team? It's like a locker joke about a guy everyone talks about when he leaves the room.
With these 3rd and 4th line players getting 5-6 yr terms at 3-5 mil aav, I think it makes it much more plausible for the Wings to trade Rasmussen, Compher, and Appleton this off-season. Their contracts look very reasonable now for their performance...

@yzerman3cups@RideTheColtrain I think it would be Peterka/Desnoyers or Hayton/Igilnia. Ideally it would be Peterka/Igilonia trade but I think its going to be a prospect trade unless Utah needs to clear the cap space.
@LaForgesVisor@RideTheColtrain And hughes got less because he only has a year and half left on the contract. If he doesnt sign then he walks and so do the prospects you had.
@RideTheColtrain It can be one or the other with Simashev. Id prefer Igilnia of the two. Then add a 1st and 2nd. That is the Eichel trade but Larkin has a better contract situation and not a serious neck issue that needs surgery. If Cossa is include then I think you need to include both.
@JibbletsM86226@NHLRumourReport Lol ok Jibblets...by your standard there are only elite 1C's that must put up over a PPG...McDavid, McKinnon, Celebrini, Suzuki, Eichel, Crosby types are the only 1C. Gotta be a bonafide hall of fame to make list...
@GrindLinePod Id rather just eat part the contract in a trade so this doesn't draw out for 4 more years on the books. The center market is so weak you will get someone to take on Compher especially at the deadline.
@GrindLinePod I'm not saying you have to play them..you can send them to GR. Honestly these guys may be more tradable now considering the free agent contracts. McCarron got 6 yrs at 3.3 with a ntc. GM's may say I can give up a 6th or 7th and have this guy off my books next year....
