Many people overlook the link between SGBV and access to medical care. During a radio conversation, Ms. Aura reiterated that SGBV is not just a legal issue but also a health emergency. Survivors need timely medical attention for treatment of injuries, HIV prevention within 72 hours, emergency contraception, psychosocial support, and proper documentation to support the justice process.

She emphasized that limited awareness, stigma, and weak referral pathways often delay survivors from reaching health facilities on time. Strengthening this understanding is key to ensuring survivors receive both critical care and justice without delay.
