The weapon system is a next-generation surface-to-surface ballistic missile designed to replace the aging ATACMS.

It has range of 500+ km (compared to 300 km for HIMARS) with future versions planned for 1000 km.

The payload consists of a 200 lb (91 kg) high-explosive fragmentation unitary warhead
