@MakarTruther98@mattlabelle Yes because the operating expenses are higher than the revenue, it's a net loss which is why they are recipients of revenue sharing. Read a book and then you might have reason to call someone else dumb.
@MakarTruther98@mattlabelle But you didn't refute his point. There's a difference between amount of revenue generating teams and amount of revenue. TOR, MTL and NYR are in a different tier than every other team. If TOR shut down tomorrow, about 12 American teams would go with it.
@RyanMacDonald86@joshbeleaf Knies had more than 65 points this past year at age 23 - second season in the league. I get that some Leafs fans overvalue him but he's likely going to be a pre-eminent power forward in the league with a potential ceiling at 40 gs 80 pts, so take him or leave him for what he is.
@dlittlewood1@colesuzdachguhl@thompson4vezina The OP isn't who's better, it's which franchise is most relevant. I didn't see the biggest headline during the Tampa cup runs when the Habs were basement dwellers surrounding Servachev. Leafs hadn't played since April and were the most talked about franchise all spring.
@Sapsterr_ It was a career year for sure but if you've been watching the Leafs the past few years you'd know that their high a lot is left wide open by PKs because they've never had a threat from the blue line
@FreePeteyEP40 Knies had .84 PPG last season and he's 23... not sure where you're getting your "at best" but he's also a rare physical power forward that can score 30 goals. If you're the Leafs, how does this actually make them better?
@tobytarrant@officialnucky@grok No he couldn't and this is flippant. "Ending" child poverty requires more systemic solutions than a donation, no matter the amount. Building trillion dollar businesses lifts more people out of poverty than any single donation could.
@BulatBranko@McCartyDangles Two of the teams in the highest taxed jurisdictions (Tor and MTL) are the two largest contributors to revenue sharing to keep all the no tax teams alive. I agree with this in a world with no rev sharing, but why should they be subsidizing teams to take their players?
@Lochness12021@Jay_D_Rosehill Just wait until next year when the Habs don't get as far, and you'll see your own fanbase start to turn on your players. It happens in every big sports market; not a Toronto thing.
@tdurgan13@wyshynski They can make him waive it. Put him in the press box for 5 years or until he waives it. Teams need to start playing hardball of the league/NHLPA doesn't step in.
@kharma_7 Make incremental changes that are sustainable in your lifestyle rather than large scale changes. If you can't work out 4x per week, work out 2 or 3. If you can't do an hour, do a half hour.
