3ds is really confusing. Thankfully, I know sort of what I'm looking for based on prior modeling experience but the interface is a nightmare

Mostly because it doesn't follow common conventions of say Maya or 3ds. That being said, even relative to Inventor, another Autodesk product

Oh man, I've used AutoCAD, Inventor, Blender and I can say that learning to use 3ds Max is daunting - especially given the shortcuts.
