Take action. Call your council member. Get involved. Be part of building a Minneapolis where ALL of us can be safe - we deserve nothing less and we won't settle.
Including unhoused, homeless, and housing insecure neighbors in the push for an eviction moratorium is crucial and core, not an afterthought. If we're going to call the violent clearing of encampments "eviction," then STOP THE SWEEPS is a non-negotiable part of a moratorium.
The very least you can do this week if you're a comfortable white person is pay reparations to the Native folks whose ongoing genocide is being celebrated. Please, dig deep.

I'm a disabled, queer, trans, Indigenous person, and I desperately need help. I'm going through one of the hardest times in recent memory— horrible medical news, one of the objectively hardest meds changes, and I had my heart stomped to pieces last night.

I want community organizing to be something that we practice everyday. For our families, the youth, our neighbors.
Minneapolis has always been this racist. This mayoral race really illuminated it even more. Progress has always been halted by the milquetoast “not yet” majority.
Encampment residents were told to leave to allow the police investigation but were told they would be allowed to return to claim their property. They weren't. MPD used the occasion to search their tents, then dispose of their property including their papers, meds, wallets, etc.
Minneapolis needs to take a housing first approach to homelessness. Without a well-resourced, compassionate, and resident-focused approach, the conditions for violence in encampments will continue to exist. Tragedies like the one last night are completely avoidable.
Frey has the ability to keep our city safe and chooses not to WHY WOULD YOU VOTE FOR HIM? take the signs down he has showed his leadership while in that position VOTE HIM OUT we need change NOW
Everyone wringing their hands over "political violence" had better also mean this person suggesting genocide on live TV as casually as he'd order lunch.
Numerous families are reliant on this ONE link to stay housed—among the occupation’s shelling, bombing, detonated vehicles, airstrikes.
It’s hopeful because you know it works.
And it’s more urgent than ever.
2581/4100 needed by SATURDAY for their rent… https://t.co/aMkxb4mdOf
Disabled native two-spirit comrade celebrating 14 months sobriety needs support in getting their license and phone restored! With that done, they can get a better job and then stable housing.
Currently 110/1200. It's a big number, but a little from a lot of people adds up fast!
I can’t emphasize enough how wearing a respirator mask during a global pandemic is an act of defiance. By wearing one, you’re directly going against what the government wants, which is sickness and disability. It’s a powerful act and it makes a difference. Masking is resistance!
