@EvanLSolomon Evan, why are so many data centres needed? Make these companies *BROOKFIELD* sign AND pay for capital bond between data centre, municipalities and province to guarantee salaries for pre-determined terms. Private capital only - ZERO taxpayer subsidies.
Not a good week for AI…
@CubeBoxman@oilngas007@ChrisX006549408@MelissaLMRogers I don’t know who ‘they’ are and I’m not defending any posts but my own. I have been clear with info I provided. Posts are becoming circular. So please take the last word and we’ll both carry on with our lovely days. 🌼
@oilngas007@CubeBoxman@ChrisX006549408@MelissaLMRogers Meh, you obfuscate. Payroll DEDUCTIONs aren’t by definition taxes but they:
-aren’t optional
-they’re collected identically to taxes -many aren’t able to utilize the payroll BENEFITS they pay for (especially CPP)
Deductions or contributions are gentle words for taxes.
@SimplyRosie1@MakisMedicine@HedyFry 💯 At no time, did the government say: eat well, get sunshine, exercise, drink water. Instead we got parks on lock-down and advice on glory holes. 🤦♀️
@CubeBoxman@ChrisX006549408@oilngas007@MelissaLMRogers Then what is the #? I asked for an estimated average of all taxes, based on the average wage, across all levels of govt. It literally lists the taxes, take the time to read. It gives the source as the Fraser Institute. Provide rebuttal with your own sourced #’s .
@oilngas007@CubeBoxman@ChrisX006549408@MelissaLMRogers Regardless, it IS concerning that as a whole of taxes paid, we pay more for subpar services at every level of govt than we do for essentials. Produces a feeling of servitude rather than service. I’m happy to be a contributing member of this country but expect reciprocity in govt
First Nations languages are critically endangered because people stopped speaking them every day — not because of some endless “assimilationist” boogeyman.
Canada has poured hundreds of millions into revitalization, the Indigenous Languages Act, immersion programs, and “Knowledge Keepers.” Results? Still collapsing.
Languages evolve or die when a more useful one (English) dominates. That’s how Gaelic, Latin, and countless others went. Blaming the government forever while demanding more taxpayer money is just another grift.
If communities actually wanted to keep the languages alive, they’d speak them at home instead of waiting for Ottawa to fund it. Stop the victim narrative and take ownership.
1. CBC - Taxpayer-funded national broadcaster, rated Lean Left by AllSides and Media Bias/Fact Check, with repeated criticism for story selection and framing favoring progressive/Liberal positions.
2. Legacy private media (CTV News, Global News, Toronto Star and similar) - Corporate outlets with overlapping newsroom cultures producing aligned coverage on politics, social issues and policy.
3. Federal government communications arms and related public funding mechanisms - Direct channels pushing official narratives on climate, immigration, identity and other priorities with limited counterbalance.
Media bias is real and measurable; "propaganda" depends on intent and impact. Cross-reference multiple sources.
@HappyPixie3@Lisa_Jayne_c@realericmoutsos There were two versions. A short basic one like what you answered and a long form version. I also got the long version. Housing questions as well as gender identity questions as well. No need for govt to be so intrusive.
