Following Business and Trade Committee's session with Daniel Křetínský this week in which he agreed @RoyalMail service is falling short of expectations, we have written to them seeking clarification on a number of points, including the timescale of their improvement plan ⬇️
Chair, @liambyrnemp 💬
"I welcome this decision to block Ming Yang from the UK's energy system. Our economic security reviews have warned time and time again that over-reliance on China in strategic sectors leaves Britain exposed to coercion, disruption and unfair competition.
Our Committee has consistently warned that in a more unstable world, where China has too often resorted to the tactics of economic coercion, we simply can’t surrender control of our energy supply chain in ways that create risks of new and unwise dependencies."
We'll be questioning @RoyalMail’s new owner Daniel Křetínský about its performance as the UK’s universal postal operator.
We'll also hear from @Ofcom and Communications Workers Union representatives following the announcement of changes to the USO.

The Business and Trade Sub‑Committee on Economic Security, Arms and Export Controls has launched an inquiry looking into the production and supply of critical minerals, alongside assessing the likely impact of the proposals set out in the latest Government strategy ⬇️
Our latest report on the Post Office Horizon scandal is now out.
“The victims of this scandal have shown extraordinary courage. The country owes them more than apologies — it owes them justice, accountability, and full and fair redress without further delay.” Chair, @liambyrnemp
We've been investigating Royal Mail after widespread reports of late and missing letters. There are concerns that the essential letter service is being de-prioritised in favour of the more lucrative parcel service.
Chair @liambyrnemp on the issue 👇
Today we will question @biztradegovuk Trade Minister @RhonddaBryant on a range of topics, including the Government's progress ofnthe proposed UK-EU “reset” and the future direction of Britain’s economic partnership with the United States.
