Investing in our students' mental health is essential!
Thank you, @virginia_tech@JMU and @VCU for your new partnership with TimelyMD. Students deserve round-the-clock access to mental health professionals.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Chat & Chew in Franklin, VA! I thoroughly enjoyed the conversations that we had to discuss progressing Franklin forward. It was an honor to be there with you all. Next stop, HARBOURVIEW! #ClarkforDelegate#DelegateClark#ChatandChew
I’ve lost students and dear friends have lost family members to senseless gun violence in Richmond. My heart goes out to this family. Mass murders catch public eye, as they should, but we need focus too on daily shootings. Other countries regulate guns. We need fed action now.
This pharmacist needs a refresher on the law:
1. Contraception is still legal by federal law.
2. Abortion is still legal in Virginia.
3. No one can face liability for doing something that is currently legal.
The people working hardest to restrict abortion in Virginia are the same ones who champion the “medical freedom” to prescribe off-label COVID treatment. https://t.co/voEh2MPWe2
This is what investing in kids can look like in Virginia — health, support, & safety for students struggling with addiction — not punishment and pipelines to time behind bars. https://t.co/h4CAld2y8B
Did you know Jefferson thought each generation should reboot its Constitution every 20 years or so?
Throughout the 19th century Virginia mostly did: 1830, 1851, 1864, 1870, 1902.
We’ve slowed down since then. Our last big rewrite was in 1971.
This nation is built from nations: indigenous, enslaved, migrants. As we continue to seek a common identity, we also celebrate the diverse cultures that give our home its various art, literature, languages, food, and ways of being in the world. Wishing everyone a safe 4th of July
This 4th, I honor the resilience & grace embodied in this statue of Dignity of Earth and Sky, in SD. According to artist Lamphere, she “represents the courage, perseverance, and wisdom of the Lakota & Dakota cultures”; the values of an entire people, not an individual portrait.
Our system of 23 CCs are a lifeline for Virginians seeking pathways for educational opportunities, academic credentials, and access to careers. @VCCS_SO needs leadership well-versed in higher ed, workforce development, and equity in education--not a puppet of right-wing agenda.
"So that’s what I think Glenn Youngkin is against…I do know that socioeconomic-wise…[community colleges] are the gateway for upward mobility better than anything.” Why does the Governor hate community colleges? They are the most powerful tools for democratizing higher learning.
This was a priority of mine, working hard with @TCIFiscal - they killed the bill but we got it in the budget! This is an important win for working families! Read more below and spread the word.
It was an honor to present this commending resolution that I carried and was passed through the House of Delegates to HOPE House Foundation at it's 44th Annual Dinner. Non-profits such as HOPE House are essential for our underserved communities.
Virginia is investing a projected $100 million over the next 5 years to install public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the state. You can support this plan by providing input: https://t.co/3be4onvSAL
