mullein is often tall, but not always!
i find so much wisdom about how to live this human life from plants! how to adapt, how to persist, how to let go... #plantmagic#herbalist#wisdom#diversity
this amazing purple fringed bog orchid! it’s a fairly rare plant but we know where to go to see it early in july. the medicine of this plant is the awareness it brings to how important it is to protect our environment and to leave habitat for these amazing beautiful beings /1
undisturbed. there are also jack in the pulpit, trillium, coptis, ghost pipe, and other endangered and at-risk plants on this land. they will grow if we leave their homes alone. we might be inclined say “if we give them space to”, but that implies that the space was /2
amazing beautiful milkweed. because not everything needs to be medicine for humans.
such a big part of the work we need to do is to stop thinking in terms of how we can use plants, how they can benefit us. this is thinking based on exploitation and extraction, and /1

here’s another of our favorite unlikely nervines: dandelion! liver support in the root helps liver=keeping neurotransmitters balanced, leaves provide minerals for nerve function, and the flower is an exhilarant, lifting the spirits when things feel grim. /1
have you ever considered purslane as a nervine? you should! healthy nervous function needs minerals and lubrication: purslane has both, to make sure your nerve cells have what they need to send and interpret messages correctly.
we're working on a new free project combining mutual aid and accessible herbalism into a set of resources to help folks take more control over their health, especially in areas that are underserved. check it out at https://t.co/NCJuqU2ilu
