I sat down with @COMOChamber members to talk about the top concerns of Columbia’s #smallbiz community and how we can work together to support Columbia’s workforce.
Ahead of tonight’s special City Council meeting, the Chamber sent this letter to council expressing the concerns of its membership. In the letter, the Chamber advocates that the business community not be responsible for enforcing a mask mandate if one were to be put into place.
If a business can not attend the meeting, the Chamber encourages members to make sure their voice is heard by contacting their ward’s council member or submitting a public comment ahead of the meeting.
The Chamber encourages members to attend the upcoming special City Council meeting, which will discuss the possibility of a new mask mandate in Columbia, to be held this coming Monday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall. https://t.co/kxiyFKn0pk

The Loop's Maker City effort is a way to help those “locked out of the system--who don’t have family wealth, investors, or a relationship with a bank. There’s a hidden economy here in Columbia of people making, growing, building, and fixing things." https://t.co/btte7WPLzE
