“Who are we?”

It’s a question that rocked me when I really let myself sit with it.

Do we love the idea of God, yet somehow convince ourselves we’re not worthy of His love? Do we live as though we’ve got everything under control, while deep down knowing none of us were ever meant to carry life alone? Do we want to remember God, but stop short of acknowledging Him?

Or are we willing to stand up and use the voice He gave us—not just for what’s comfortable, but for what’s true?

I get it. Believe me.

I’ve been the guy who stayed quiet when I should’ve spoken. I’ve ducked when I knew better. I’ve hidden parts of my faith because I didn’t feel like wearing it that day.

And that’s okay. Grace is real.

But we can’t become who we were created to be if we refuse to embrace the identity we were created with.

That’s what I think we’re missing.

Not more talent. Not better words. Not smarter people.

Identity.

The identity Christ died to give us.

My family and I have sponsored children through Compassion Canada for many years, and we believe deeply in what they do. I’ve seen firsthand, on the ground, that the support people give goes exactly where it’s needed most.

Many of these children weren’t born with the opportunities, security, or sense of identity that many of us take for granted.

But they were born with identity.

Because the God who formed them in the womb knows their names, knows every hair on their heads, and lovingly created them in His image. Their value was never determined by where they were born, what they have, or what they lack.

And neither is ours.

THIS IS THE DAY.

Not to wait.
Not to calculate.
Not to put off what we already know is right.

But to celebrate the freedom we’ve been given and declare:

“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

So who are we?

We’re people who choose love over division.
Grace over judgment.
Truth over fear.

We never earned His love. He gave it freely.

So what if we became the next blessing for someone else?

Who knows what God can do through one simple act of obedience, one child being reminded who they are, or one person deciding to finally say “yes.”

Who are we?

Maybe the better question is:

Who does He say we are?
