Official Commissioning of the APM Presidential Campaign Office: A new chapter has officially begun!

Yesterday marked a historic milestone for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as we officially commissioned our Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja. The energy was electric, the vision is clear, and the momentum is unstoppable.

It was an honor to stand alongside our Presidential Candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and our Vice Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Musa Daura, leaders ready to steer our nation toward progress and prosperity.

We were humbled by the overwhelming support of Nigerians from all walks of life who showed up to witness this moment. A special mention to the presence of Mr. Peter Obi (Presidential Candidate of the NDC) and distinguished leaders from the PDP and other political parties.

This gathering was a testament to the belief that the future of Nigeria transcends party lines, it is about a shared vision for a better country.

Remarks by HE Seyi Makinde, FNSE, Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) at the Commissioning of the APM Campaign Office, Abuja on Monday, 7 September 2026.

Today, we are not just opening a campaign office.

We are opening another door for Nigerians to join the conversation about the future of our country.

A conversation about what must change. A conversation about how we can make Nigeria work for every Nigerian. That is what Reset Nigeria is about. In the past few days, I have spoken about the petrol pricing framework. Some people have asked whether I am suggesting that we bring back the old fuel subsidy.

That is not my position. Let me explain my position very simply with this example. If a community grows food, the people of that community should not have to buy that food as though it travelled halfway around the world before reaching them.

So why should crude oil supplied to Nigerian refineries be priced as though Nigeria does not produce crude oil? Nigeria’s oil must provide a real and measurable benefit to Nigerians.

That benefit should be built into the system from the beginning, through the price at which crude oil is supplied for domestic refining—not through an opaque intervention at the petrol pump after all the costs, inefficiencies and distortions have been added.

And Nigerians must be able to see how the final price is reached. We need complete transparency across the petroleum value chain—from production and domestic crude allocation to refining, transportation, distribution, taxes and retail margins.

Nigerians should know what they are paying for, who receives what and where inefficiencies are increasing the final price. That is what it means to Reset Nigeria.

It means that we stop accepting systems that nobody can explain. It means that government must show its workings. It means that Nigerians must know how decisions are made, how public resources are used and who benefits from them. It means that when Nigeria’s wealth grows, the lives of Nigerians must also improve.

I am aware that some people have already decided that this campaign does not count. I have been here before.

When I first asked the people of Oyo State to entrust me with the responsibility of serving them, many people said I did not stand a chance. They looked at the established political forces, looked at me, and concluded that I could not win. But the people of Oyo State had other ideas. So, when they say today that this campaign does not count, I do not take it personally. What they are really saying is that the hopes of millions of Nigerians do not count. They are saying that the market woman struggling with rising prices does not count. That the young person searching for an opportunity does not count. That the farmer, the worker, the small-business owner and every Nigerian who believes this country can be better do not count.

But we count. Our voices count. Our experiences count. Our ideas count. And, together, our votes will count. That is why Reset Nigeria cannot be a conversation among politicians alone. It must become a conversation in our homes, markets, schools, offices, farms, factories and communities. We want to hear from the trader who struggles whenever transport costs rise.

We want to hear from the farmer who cannot afford to move produce to the market. We want to hear from the business owner whose costs rise every time the price of fuel changes. We want to hear from the young Nigerian who is working hard but can no longer see a clear path to a better life.

This office belongs to that conversation. Its doors are open to Nigerians who believe that our country can work better than it does today. So, I invite you: join the Reset Nigeria conversation. Ask questions. Challenge our ideas. Share your own ideas. Organise within your communities. Become a Resetter.

They may discount one candidate. But they cannot discount millions of Nigerians united behind a better future.

Insecurity: APM Accuses Tinubu Govt of Living in Denial
…Laments Over 600,000 Nigerians Killed Under Tinubu
…Says Makinde Has Blueprint to Tackle Insecurity.

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the attempts by the Tinubu administration to downplay the worsening insecurity in the country, despite the nation now ranking as the 4th most insecure country in the world under President Tinubu’s watch, as reported in the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) 2026.

The party berates the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), for his dangerous distortion of reality in claiming that the security of the nation has improved under President Tinubu, when the situation on the ground and independent reports by credible international organizations show that Nigeria’s insecurity rating has actually climbed two spots from the 6th place recorded in the 2025 index.

APM finds it deeply disappointing that a minister of the Federal Republic could appear on national television to make such claims at a time when millions of innocent Nigerians are being killed, kidnapped, displaced, and terrorized in various parts of the country.

The comments by the minister further expose the Tinubu administration’s insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians, who bear the pain of the daily killings, maiming, rape, abduction for ransom, and incarceration by bandits in dehumanizing conditions in various parts of the nation.

The Minister’s comments also show that the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration does not and cannot feel the pain and anguish of millions of Nigerian families whose lives have been permanently ruined in the last three years of Tinubu’s presidency, during which over 600,000 Nigerians have been killed and no fewer than 2.2 million others, including women and children abducted.

Only last week, 600 Nigerians (mostly women, children, and the elderly) were abducted from Dekera, Gidan-Zana, and Sabon Gida villages in Niger State and are still languishing in captivity.

Credible data released by SBM Intelligence shows that kidnapping for ransom has grown into a highly monetized industry under President Tinubu, with over N7.78 billion paid in ransom between July 2025 and June 2026.

Our party is disturbed that the administration is either dangerously disconnected from reality or is deliberately attempting to manipulate public perception by denying the actual situation in the country.

More disheartening is that while families sorrow across the country, the Tinubu administration is waving off abduction—an act of terrorism—as "family affair."

If the security situation has truly improved as the administration claims, the APM challenges the President, the Minister of Defence, and other senior officials of the Tinubu Presidency to travel by road without armed security details as other Nigerians must do.

In any case, it is clear that insecurity is festering under President Tinubu because he lacks the capacity to develop and operate a blueprint to tackle and contain the challenge. Our nation cannot survive another four years under such a hopeless and incompetent administration.

The APM, however, urges Nigerians not to despair but to remain steadfast in their resolve to vote for our presidential candidate, the people’s candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who is ready with a blueprint that will address the insecurity and other challenges brought upon our nation by the Tinubu-led administration, whose lifespan ends on May 29, 2027.

Drug Allegations: APM Confident US Court will Call Tinubu to Account.

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) is confident that the United States judicial system will uphold its reputation for integrity, transparency, and independence by holding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu accountable in the narcotic-related case linked to him.

The party asserts that the plea by President Tinubu before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on August 28, 2026, to block a summary judgment and prevent the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) from releasing incriminating documents allegedly linking him to narcotic trafficking, further confirms his fear of conviction.

The APM maintains that the desperation exhibited by President Tinubu’s lawyers to stall the case and frustrate the release of vital evidence on the grounds that such disclosure would affect him personally is viewed by Nigerians and the global community as an admission of guilt.

If, indeed, President Tinubu’s lawyers were convinced of his innocence, they should have boldly used this case as an opportunity to help their client clear his name once and for all, rather than seeking to suppress evidence.

Citing the right to privacy and the potential impact of the release of these incriminating documents on Nigerian politics (ostensibly, the 2027 presidential election) as reasons to stall the case demonstrates that the President is troubled by the implications of Section 137 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) regarding this self-inflicted situation.

For clarity, Section 137(1)(d) provides that a person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if “he… is under a sentence of imprisonment or fine for any offence involving dishonesty or fraud (by whatever name called).” It is instructive to note that Nigeria is a signatory to all three major international treaties on drug and narcotic control.

The APM remains optimistic that the U.S. court will determine the matter strictly in accordance with the law and the evidence presented.

As a party, we insist that no individual, regardless of their political position, should be beyond the reach of the law, especially regarding drug-related issues of legitimate concern to the entire world.

Nigerians are confident in this pursuit because the United States judicial system has demonstrated on several occasions that political status does not place an individual above the law. A notable example is the case of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted by a U.S. federal jury in Manhattan on drug-related charges in March 2024.

President Tinubu currently presides over the affairs of more than 200 million Nigerians. His past and present actions are, therefore, matters of legitimate public interest, particularly as the nation heads toward the 2027 presidential election, in which he is a major contender.

As a political party committed to democracy, justice, and the rule of law, our position is straightforward: let the facts be established, let the evidence be tested, and let justice take its course.

The APM restates that at this critical juncture, Nigeria deserves a president free from questions of fraud, corruption, and dishonesty. We, therefore, counsel President Tinubu to spare the nation the pain, cost, and embarrassment of this situation by stepping down from the race.

We also advise all those presenting themselves for the office of the President of Nigeria to be prepared to face public scrutiny regarding their records.

For our part, the APM is proud of our presidential candidate and Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who embodies the desire of Nigerians for an honest, transparent, and competent leader with the capacity, integrity, and skills to turn around the fortunes and image of our nation for the benefit of all citizens.

Clear the Air on President Tinubu’s Rumoured Incapacitation- APM to Presidency
…Asserts Nigeria Needs a Younger Person as President

The Allied People's Movement (APM) has demanded that the Tinubu Presidency should immediately clear the air over apprehensions in the public space that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have become incapacitated, leading to his lengthy three weeks leave in Europe.

The Presidency owes it as a duty to officially furnish Nigerians with information on the President’s health, details of the lengthy leave including his itinerary, entourage and schedules while he is abroad.

Moreover, that President Tinubu decided to embark on a lengthy vacation at the time he is expected to be leading from the front in finding solutions to the myriads of security and economic challenges his administration has caused the nation, and when he should be providing answers to his alleged link to FBI report on a drug-related case raise apprehensions that either he abdicated his presidenial duties or have become incapacitated.

While it is acknowledged that nobody is above human frailties, the APM posits that there is nothing wrong in the Presidency clearing the air on the state of health of Mr. President as obtainable in other climes.

The APM holds that in the current circumstance of his many failures in office, it is clear that President Tinubu has done his best, which best has been nationally and internationally adjudged to be the worst in the history of Nigerian leadership.

Tinubu’s record in government is ignoble. In a space of three years, President Tinubu’s insensitive totalitarian administration has plunged 63% of Nigerians (about 140 million citizens) below poverty line with its harsh economic policies including the removal of subsidy on petroleum, while overburdening citizens with draconian and corrupt tax regime that have left businesses and homes gasping for breath.

With President Tinubu on the saddle, the future of over 250 million Nigerians has been mortgaged to foreign interests through reckless borrowings which has hit a frightening N159.28 trillion with nothing on ground to show. Bulk of these borrowings are alleged to have been diverted to the private purses of corrupt APC leaders.

More distressing is that under President Tinubu’s hopeless watch, insecurity has festered with over 628,000 Nigerians killed and 2.2 million others abducted since he took office in May 2023. His administration has failed to take decisive steps to tackle insecurity and protect lives in the country.

The APM urges President Tinubu to use the period of the leave to introspect on his legacy of failures and rescind his decision to run in the 2027 Presidential race having been overwhelmed by the pressing demands of the office of the President of a nation like Nigeria.

The tasking demand of the office of Nigeria’s President at this critical time requires an energetic individual who is not above the age of 60 years, with the vitality, capacity and faculty to connect and drive contemporary leadership realities. Nigeria does not need a weakened person who depend on exploiting the intellect and capacity of others in the desire to run for office.

Nigerians expect President Tinubu to quit the race and support the Presidential Candidate of the APM, Engr. Seyi Makinde, a young and energetic candidate who has demonstrated the required leadership capacity especially in transforming Oyo State to a foremost economically viable state, surpassing the Federal Capital Territory -according to data from Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC); a feat they want him to replicate at the national level.
