BREAKING: We're receiving reports that at least one protester was abducted off the streets today by unmarked “officers” — this time in New York City.
These dangerous, abusive, and indefensible actions must stop. Law enforcement must be held accountable.
@HercFamily5@plaza_tn This guy out here preaching about statistics but aint ever heard the word "disproportionate." The absolute state of reactionaries.
@devilscompiler Portland does not regulate the use of crowd control tools used by federal occupiers. Also, Portland has not banned the use of crowd control tools. It has just restricted their use to only be used during riots, which the portland police have the jurisdiction to declare any time.
@foureyedviet So, this is a quirk of american democracy. Representatives can change their vote after a vote has passed, as long as it does not change the result of the vote.
@CryptoCNCDesign @quantadelic@DJThistle01@AiryOrange@sabotagebeats@PortlandPolice@tedwheeler Hey! Most police activity does not involve fixing any of those things. Investigative and response to violent crimes would still exist. Maybe just dont have armed agents of the state patrolling schools and roads. Maybe the protection of your property is *your* responsibility.
@JoshuaBailey184 As a fellow developer, I'd frame it as: anyone can develop a working prototype, but you'd never want to sell the first thing your team put together.
@JoshuaBailey184 My concern is that would incentivize quick but unsafe tests, disincentivizes more effective treatments that may require longer development times, and would benefit those who manipulate data and skew treatment results.
This one's titled "Portland protestors winning."
Shields, leafblowers, drums, umbrellas, the most confidence I've seen. The feds retreat and protestors push forward pelting them as they go inside the doors.
They have no fear

@Breeauna9@cheesecakeeat12 @MagnetoRex4Life @TheRealCoryElia Many of these protesters will go home, newly invigorated by the sense of unity and involvement they get from organized protest, and will be inspired to work towards change. Protest destroys complacency. That's the goal. Its impossible to see that if you only view us as a mob.
@Breeauna9@cheesecakeeat12 @MagnetoRex4Life @TheRealCoryElia Times of high energy are times for outreach. Police violence is something that gets people motivated and into the streets. Activists use this energy to organize for mutual aid & political involvement. You only see what happens when a BLM logo is slapped on.
