Everyone should learn to fact check:
- Yusuf is Muslim, so this is odd at best
- 40 churches converted to mosques, 1.14% of the closures in the last decade
- 8,776 Prevent referrals 24/25. Since 19/20 the number of extreme right ideology referrals has been higher than Islamist
🚨 NEW: Reform’s Zia Yusuf will announce plans to “restore Britain’s Christian heritage” tomorrow
- Introduce a “patriotic curriculum” based on Christianity to give children “more things to take pride in again”
- Stop churches being converted into mosques by granting them listed status and requiring planning permission
- Force police to search homes of everyone referred to Prevent to crackdown on “Islamic extremism”
- Launch outreach programme encouraging expats in Dubai and Singapore to return by pledging lower taxes
@sydbuttfucker I equate it to body horror as I have the same reaction to it as I do to that kind of media - never seen anyone else refer to it the same way
@ddemOn888@bookinitout Considering none of the adults acknowledged it, it seemed pointless to make the connection. I haven’t seen the play - but assume they interact, you think they’d at least vaguely remember a boy from school whose whole family got offed. I thought it might connect to why Will 🙄
@ddemOn888@bookinitout Joyce & Hopper are supposed to be 4 years older than Henry - He's a freshman, they're seniors at Hawkins High. So, season 1 in 1983 they'd then be 8 years older than Henry in the lab flashbacks as that was 4 years previous (sent to Abyss in 79) plus their 4 yr age gap
It amuses me to see the takes on how fine Jamie Bower is as Henry. Because he creeps me the fuck out. I find him so absolutely convincing as Henry that I can’t relate him to Jamie at all. Which I think is a wonderful testament to his acting
@BpoolCouncil Any update on this @BpoolCouncil @EnvecoBlackpool our blue bin was taken Monday 3rd and we still don’t have a new one (same for all our neighbours I assume)
Just saw someone wearing a Manchester United puffer jacket and genuinely thought he was walking his dog in his Sainsbury’s uniform … weird colour combo for a team that wear red …
This is a striking example of what I argue in today’s column. Reform and the Tories are out here gleefully saying disabled people on Motability should be forced to drive a 3-wheeler, like a scarlet letter. The stigma is not an accident - it’s the design.
