Through #Hanaano Programme, @RACIDA_Ngo, in partnership with @Concern with support from @Irish_Aid facilitated training of 20 Lead Farmers across Mandera East, Mandera North, Banisa, and Lafey to strengthen last-mile agricultural extension and accelerate community-level impact.
The training emphasized practical, field-ready skills, improved farming practices, market linkages and climate-smart agriculture to enhance productivity and resilience.
These Lead Farmers now operate as a strategic link between communities and the @Mandera_cgvt Department of Agriculture, driving knowledge transfer, mobilizing farmers for adoption of best practices and providing sustained, on-the-ground technical support.

📢 Investing in Nutrition: A Collective Call to Action in Kenya
The @RESCUEorg Kenya led by our CEO David Miliband, today led a high-level dialogue on Kenya’s nutrition landscape, hosted in collaboration with the @MOH_Kenya, key partners including @ACFinKenya@ConcernKenya , @WorldVisionKE , and @SaveChildren_KE
Joined by the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, the Principal Secretary, and senior Ministry officials, the discussion focused on forging a united front to tackle Kenya’s triple burden of malnutrition: undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and rising obesity.
🔍 Despite progress, nutrition in Kenya remains heavily donor-dependent, with government contributions covering less than 5% of this year’s National Nutrition Annual Work Plan. This threatens the sustainability of essential services, especially in ASAL and refugee-hosting counties.
Together, we committed to:
✅ Strengthening nutrition systems through capacity building, digital innovation, and supply chain support.
✅ Linking emergency nutrition response with long-term resilience across health, WASH, education, and livelihoods.
✅ Driving joint advocacy and resource mobilization for sustainable financing.
✅ Positioning Kenya as a model for scalable, evidence-based nutrition solutions.
💡 Partners emphasized the urgency to:
🔹 Center nutrition within Universal Health Coverage by expanding SHA benefits.
🔹 Boost domestic investments to reduce reliance on unpredictable donor funding.
🔹 Endorse collective partnerships to advance Kenya’s nutrition agenda.
Ending malnutrition in Kenya is possible, with leadership, smart investments, and collective action. IRC remains committed to working alongside government and partners to ensure every child, woman, and community has access to the nutrition they need to thrive.
🙏 We thank the Ministry of Health for hosting this impactful dialogue and look forward to continued collaboration.
🌱 Strengthening collaboration for resilient communities!
