Oregon was once a land of rugged opportunity, timber, tech pioneers, and hardworking families building the American Dream in the Pacific Northwest. But starting in the late 1980s, as Democrats locked in control of the governorship and legislature with no Republican trifecta in decades, the state became a laboratory for leftist experiments. The results? Skyrocketing homelessness, urban decay in Portland, failing schools, businesses fleeing, and policies that punish success while coddling chaos. Oregon Democrats own this mess.
After the last Republican governor, Vic Atiyeh, left office in 1987, one party Democrat rule took over. They shifted school funding with Measure 5 in 1990, promising relief but delivering bureaucratic bloat and mediocre outcomes. Instead of strong basics in reading, writing, and math, Oregon kids get indoctrination. Today, too many Oregon schools rank poorly nationally, captured by unions that prioritize politics over parents and standards.
Fast forward to the progressive era: Portland’s embrace of “defund the police,” harm reduction, and radical experiments turned a vibrant city into a national punchline. Measure 110 in 2020 decriminalized hard drugs, flooding streets with fentanyl and open air addiction. Homeless encampments exploded, businesses boarded up, and downtown entered a “doom loop” of crime, vacant storefronts, and declining foot traffic. Violent crime spikes followed George Floyd era policies, with slow police response times making neighborhoods unsafe. Even after partial reversals, the damage from decades of soft on crime Democrat governance is baked in.
Economically, high taxes including income taxes that drive talent away and anti business regulations have stalled growth. While the nation recovered, Portland’s metro lost thousands of jobs in recent years, with high paying sectors hit hard. Housing costs soared due to restrictive zoning and progressive mandates, pricing out working families. Population growth slowed as Oregonians voted with their feet, heading to lower tax, safer states. Overreliance on volatile income taxes and social spending experiments left budgets strained, even as roads crumbled and services lagged.
Homelessness remains a disgrace under leaders like Tina Kotek, tents everywhere, failed “housing first” approaches without accountability, and billions spent with little results. Green deals and environmental extremism hurt traditional industries like logging and energy, trading blue collar jobs for virtue signals. Democrat supermajorities keep doubling down more spending, more rules, more excuses.
The pattern in Oregon mirrors the national Democrat playbook, erode law and order, expand government dependency, prioritize ideology over results, and watch American exceptionalism bleed out. From the 1980s timber transitions mishandled through today’s urban collapse and economic stagnation, Oregon proves that unchecked progressive governance doesn’t build, it destroys. Oregonians deserve better: lower taxes, safer streets, school choice, and policies that reward work, not welfare. It’s time to reject the failed Democrat vision that turned the Beaver State into a cautionary tale. America, and Oregon, can do better. 🇺🇸 🐺

When you see artists refusing to perform at the 250th Anniversary celebration of the United States of America, that should concern every American - regardless of party.

This is not just about President Trump.

This is not just about Republicans vs Democrats.

This is the 250th anniversary of the United States itself.

A country that gave many of these celebrities wealth, fame, freedom, protection, opportunity, and a platform the rest of the world could only dream of.

Yet the moment patriotism becomes politically inconvenient, some immediately run for the exits.

Here are some of the artists and groups reported to have backed out, denied involvement, or publicly distanced themselves from the Freedom 250 / Great American State Fair events in Washington D.C.:

• The Commodores
• Martina McBride
• C+C Music Factory (internal disputes followed after backlash)
• Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli reportedly expressed shock at being associated with the event

Why?

Because they discovered the event had ties to the Trump administration or America First figures.

Think about how insane this has become.

We now have a faction in America that struggles to separate:

That is dangerous.

You do not have to agree with every president to celebrate the nation itself.

Democrats celebrated July 4th under Republican presidents.
Republicans celebrated America under Democrat presidents.

But now?
Some people treat the American flag itself like a political symbol instead of a national one.

That mindset weakens national unity.

America’s 250th anniversary should have been one of the few moments where the country paused and said:

“We may disagree politically, but we are still Americans.”

Instead, parts of the entertainment industry reacted as if performing for America itself was some kind of moral compromise.

That says a lot about where the culture is heading.

And parents especially should pay attention to this shift because culture shapes how future generations see their own country.

A nation cannot survive long-term if millions of its own citizens are taught to feel embarrassment, resentment, or shame toward the very country that gave them their opportunities.

Healthy nations criticize themselves while still loving themselves.

That balance matters.

The verdict: A federal jury convicted him on 10 criminal counts, including conspiracy, money laundering, witness tampering, and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government.

The E. Jean Carroll case against President Trump is one of the strangest civil cases in American history. The foundational problem is this: Carroll could not identify when the alleged incident occurred — not even the year with any precision.
That should have killed the case as dead as a skunk on the road right there.
Without a temporal anchor, no defendant — regardless of guilt or innocence — can mount an alibi defense. Trump, who has maintained detailed calendars and staff records for decades, was denied the most basic tool of self-defense: the ability to establish where he was. That is not a technicality. It is a due process violation at the constitutional level.
Then Carroll produced the one piece of physical evidence she claimed corroborated her account — the dress she wore during the alleged incident. It was subsequently established that the dress was designed after the incident could have occurred. The sole corroborating evidence falsified her timeline.
The case proceeded anyway.
The resulting verdict was then weaponized in a defamation suit — where Trump was held liable for denying the allegation, while being procedurally barred from defending against it, because it was already "proven" in another court, regardless how flawed the procedure was. He was punished, in effect, for asserting his own innocence.
Compounding everything: coordinated professional and physical threats so thoroughly intimidated the legal community that attorneys refused these cases regardless of available fees. When you systematically destroy a defendant's ability to retain counsel of choice, you forfeit the right to a legitimate verdict.
An allegation is not evidence. Process without substance is not law. And a verdict produced under these conditions carries no legitimate authority — whatever its formal status.

Not only is it the right move to investigate Carroll, but every other person involved as well. Trump is owed serious damages here, and there may be a few people who belong in prison for their roles in the case.
