And this is also @HomerSayson btw, Joker Sayson.
Nobody's saying anyone wanted this to happen.
But when two young players lost their lives during a team activity, you can't expect people to just shrug and call it a random accident. Something this serious deserves scrutiny.
The Ateneo de Manila University shares updates on the passing of Divine Adili and Rene Baterbonia.
The remains of Baterbonia are now in Manila with his parents and brother, while the remains of Adili will be brought back to Nigeria upon the request of his parents. (📸: Ateneo) | via @PaigeJavier
@notde_ad00 I agree. How the school handled the situation after the incident leaves a bad taste in a person’s sensibilities. This is the reason why so many have expressed their disgust. Let’s see how they will spin this fiasco.
I still pray for the souls of the two boys.
Im sure there will be an independent and comprehensive investigation on what happened. I think ADMU will not prevent this and will in fact fully cooperate in this investigation. Meanwhile, the school should seriously consider going on a 1 year of leave of absence. This is a very traumatic experience for the other boys and they may need to process what just happened. Just my opinion.
She says she is left with many unanswered questions, why her son met such a fate, why he was allegedly not rescued in time, and why weights were reportedly attached to his arms and feet while swimming. She is now calling for justice and a full investigation into the incident.

MY IPHONE WAS HOT, SLOW, AND DRAINING BATTERY FAST.
I WAS ALREADY LOOKING AT NEW IPHONES.
THEN AN APPLE TECH LOOKED AT IT FOR 2 MINUTES AND HANDED IT BACK.
"YOUR PHONE IS FINE. A FEW HIDDEN SETTINGS ARE CAUSING MOST OF THE PROBLEMS."
HE CHANGED JUST 4 THINGS.THE DIFFERENCE WAS IMMEDIATE.
HERE'S EXACTLY WHAT HE CHANGED: 👇
Aurora PPO Acting Provincial Director PCol. Percival Pineda on the drowning of Ateneo's Divine Adili and Rene Baterbonia: Base po sa ating nakuhang salaysay sa kasama nila, ito pong insidente na ito ay purely accident.
97% OF IPHONE USERS NEVER TOUCH THEIR CAMERA SETTINGS.
THAT MEANS 97% ARE TAKING PHOTOS WITH SETTINGS THAT MAKE THEIR PICTURES LOOK WORSE THAN THEY SHOULD.
I CHANGED 5 OF THEM LAST WEEK.
MY PHOTOS INSTANTLY LOOKED MORE PROFESSIONAL.
HERE’S WHAT I CHANGED: 👇
There was definitely negligence. But the real issue here was the negligence - grave to hold the responsible team officials accountable? At the very least the school will be held liable for any damages caused by the death of both kids.
While there is no confirmation yet, Sen. Joel Villanueva is believed to be among the senators eyeing to join the new majority. https://t.co/LH0PVZuKRe | via @onenewsph
From team building to burol
Nangangarap lang mabago Ang buhay pero mawawala dahil sa matinding training
Kaya Hindi rin basta basta maging athlete eh
Nakakalungkot Sobra
Deym Ateneo. That’s gross negligence. Their families trusted your program and this is happened to them. If the rumors of 3 other players almost suffered the same fate are true then your coaching staff and your sports management should ALL resign immediately. These people are not the right people to oversee the development of these student-athletes. Sheez!!!!
Devastated for the Ateneo community. Baterbonia and Adili were young athletes in their coaches’ care, on a school-sanctioned activity. Their families deserve answers. Ateneo must answer: how did this happen, and who is responsible?
“Coach hindi muna ako babalik nang mga 5 years sa Davao kasi gusto ko muna yumaman at iahon ang aking pamilya sa kahirapan.”
Rene’s last message to his coach before going to Manila. 💔
Niccolò Machiavelli once wrote:
“Nothing is more difficult to handle, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage, than to put oneself at the head of introducing a new order of things.”
But Machiavelli also understood a truth many politicians forget:
Power is never truly yours. It is merely entrusted to you for a time.
What troubles me about Alan Peter Cayetano’s continuing fixation on the Senate Presidency is that the conversation no longer seems to be about the Senate. It seems to be about Alan Peter Cayetano.
The Senate Presidency is a position, not a possession.
Strong leaders know how to win power.
Great leaders know when to let it go.
The longer one clings to a title after the institution has already moved on, the less it looks like principle and the more it looks like attachment.
And in politics, attachment is often ambition wearing the mask of virtue.

Joel Villanueva and Mark Villar will join the new Senate majority led by Sherwin Gatchalian. Carrot and stick. Quid pro quo. Transactional politics.
Marcos Jr beats Cayetano at his own game.
