INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION
PRESS STATEMENT
RESUMPTION OF NATIONWIDE CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION (CVR) FOR FINAL PHASE
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to inform the general public that the current nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will resume for its third and final phase on Monday, 11th May 2026.
It may be recalled that the second phase of the exercise was suspended on 17th April 2026 to allow the Commission clean up the register after its publication for claims and objections by registrants.
The third phase of the CVR, which begins on Monday, 11th May 2026, will end on Friday, 10th July 2026. During this period, eligible citizens who have attained the age of 18, as well as those who were unable to register during the earlier phases, should seize this opportunity to do so.
Similarly, registered voters who wish to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their biodata, are advised to access the Commission’s dedicated online portal at https://t.co/TXA4XP2fCk or visit INEC State and Local Government Area offices nationwide.
In continuation of the process, the Commission will display the Register of Voters for claims and objections from Thursday, 23rd July to Wednesday, 29th July 2026. This statutory exercise provides an important opportunity for citizens to scrutinise the register and assist the Commission in ensuring its accuracy, completeness and credibility.
The Commission reassures Nigerians that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise. We once again appeal to all eligible citizens to present themselves for registration and to play their part in strengthening the foundation of our electoral process.

We add our voice to this call, women in rural communities suffer more.
As a woman in most rural communities in Nigeria, you dare not own land except through a male family member.
This has to stop ✊.
Behind every harvest is a woman working against the odds. Yet, she faces limited access to credit, land, and resources.
If we want real food security, we must prioritise women farmers.
We call on @NGRPresident, @VP_Nigeria, @FinMinNigeria, @BudgetITng, @FmardNigeria, @NGfmafs, @OfficialOSGF to act now!

UNDERSTANDING PARTY PRIMARIES: WHY IT MATTERS FOR RURAL YOUTH AND WOMEN IN NIGERIA
As political activities increase, many young people, especially in rural communities remain excluded from how candidates emerge. Yet, they are the ones most affected by poor governance: weak...
that list can participate. What this means is, power starts before election day. If you are not registered with a political party, you are already left out. For rural youth, women, and girls, this is your moment to step in, not step back.
Phase 2 of CVR wraps up this Friday, April 17. Phase 3 starts again May 4, so this is your last call (for now).

We must realise that silence enables violence but accountability stops it.
It is time to draw a clear line: culture must never be used to violate fundamental human rights.

The Ozoro Festival incident is a painful reminder that not everything done in the name of culture deserves to be preserved.
Any tradition that humiliates, harms, or endangers women is not culture but abuse.
At Connecting Villages Initiative (CVI), we strongly condemn all ...
authorities (Nigeria Police Force , Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps etc) across Nigeria to take decisive action:
- Ensure a full investigation into this incident
- Arrest and prosecute those responsible
- Put firm measures in place to prevent a recurrence...
