@JeremiahOmada @Confluenceng@EdutrustF Yes, we are gatekeepers. We are also enablers, facilitators and catalysts for change. That's an important role. But we must not lose touch with the people. Often, we do not effectively connect with the people due to habits, language, attitude & expectations. This needs to change.
And to all of you who followed this engagement, we implore you to keep the questions and comments coming.
Thank you for your time.
GOD bless you all.

@Confluenceng Advocacy is a big part of this new philosophy & model of education. We should inform, educate, sensitize, engage & influence. Only then can we ❶ change attitudes ❷ influence policy and ❸ inspire action. Education = Development. Learning is not just to pass exams & get a job.
@okeysoffice
You have made our evening quite interesting and educating.
We look forward to future engagements and collaboration with you and EduTrust.
Thank you for your time.

@Confluenceng Yes, Nigeria is ripe. We are far from the targets but we cannot afford to slip further behind. We should have the conversation in our homes, communities, social groups, professional groups. Today, @EdutrustF visited nursery, primary and secondary schools and had this conversation
@okeysoffice
This year's theme for the International Day of Education is "Learning for people, planet, prosperity and peace".
Do you think Nigeria is ripe for this kind of conversation?

@JeremiahOmada @Confluenceng Usually, private sector supports education as part of their CSR. This is good, but they are not just doing us a favour. Private sector should invest in education as part of development strategy & improving their business climate. Educated folks don't engage in terrorism & vices.
@JeremiahOmada @Confluenceng The people sector is everyone. It is civil society. Not CSOs. CSOs are important gatekeepers, but I mean the people. The people are the primary beneficiaries of education. When the people benefit, the government and the nation ultimately benefit and society gets better for it.
@JeremiahOmada @Confluenceng Private sector is organized for the primary purpose of profiting and maximizing profit. It is an essential engine in national and global development. Education is not cheap, but the primary purpose should not be to maximize profit. It should be affordable and accessible to all.
